can someone tell me the difference between the 3.5 figures with the coin, and the new 3.5 figures with the stands?

Basically, the only figures that do not have a coins are the numbered figures in the 2008 line-up. These 08 figures have been given stands instead of coins.

There is no difference, for example, the Rebel Vanguard Trooper is the same whether he has the coin or the stand. I have three of that guy, one that came with the stand, and I see no differences. Of course one of the guys I ended up swapping his vest and helmet with one of my many TSC Endor Troopers...
I haven't found much new stuff at all. Only 2-1B, Shadow Guard, and the comic packs of Mouse & Basso, Luke & Deena, and Clone & Super Battle Droid.

Looks like HASBRO heard some of the complaints about Sandtroopers out there.
There is one that has orange shoulder thingie that is now packed with a rifle instead of the pike, and his dirty pattern is different.
There is another one with white shoulder thing with the pike that is clean as whistle, no dirt at all.
I found all the new two packs as well.

Re: The Star Wars News and Toy Haul Thread
A question for any of you Star Wars guys that have read the novels. I'm looking to pick up a SW novel but I am unsure which to get. I'm looking at either the "New Jedi Order" or "Legacy of the Force" series. Which one would you say is a good one to go with? Is there an order in which I would need to read them to fully understand the books? Help is appreciated

Read the New Jedi Order first. Legacy of the Force comes after that series. You might want to read the Dark Nest Trilogy in between them as well so you know exactly what is going on.
New Jedi Order:
Vector Prime
Dark Tide I: Onslaught
Dark Tide II: Ruin
Agents of Chaos I: Hero's Trial
Agents of Chaos II: Jedi Eclipse
Balance Point
Edge of Victory I: Conquest
Edge of Victory II: Rebirth
Star by Star
Dark Journey
Enemy Lines I: Rebel Dream
Enemy Lines II: Rebel Stand
Traitor
Destiny's Way
Force Heretic I: Remnant
Force Heretic II: Refugee
Force Heretic III: Reunion
The Final Prophecy
The Unifying Force
Dark Nest Trilogy:
The Joiner King
The Unseen Queen
The Swarm War
Legacy of the Force:
Betrayal
Bloodlines
Tempest
Exile
Sacrifice
Inferno
Fury
Revelation (was released in February. Is backordered in most places)
Invincible (not yet released)

Re: The Star Wars News and Toy Haul Thread
Thanks for the assist. I picked up Vector Prime this afternoon. It works out pretty good that R.A. Salvatore wrote it since I have been reading his "Legend of Drizzt" series and I am a big fan of his work, it should make the transition much easier. Michael A. Stackpole wrote the next two books. I have read some of his Shadowrun, "Wolf and Raven" being my favorite, so I look forward to reading some more by him.
Again my thanks.
Again my thanks.

Hey guys have any of you seen the AT-AT Star Wars/Transformer at retail? I've got the Turbo Tank and Snow Speeder but haven't seen the AT-AT. It is deluxe sized right?

Yeah I saw that. I'll be all over those. Dude get the Snowspeeder. I don't know what happened but that and the Clone tank are the best molds of the line thus far. The tank is a few notches below the Snowspeeder but the Snowspeeder is 100% perfect. Somebody had to make to make a mistake somewhere.

The AT AT is cool, it's just a bit flimsy looking in robot mode. Having the walker legs become the real bot mode legs kind of bugs me, but overall it is fairly acceptable.
The Snowspeeder to me is a bit like the X-wing-- to much back heavy kibble- like most SW/TF toys.
I do like the clone tank A LOT! I think it is nearly the best mold that is in the SW/TF line. Quite clean in both modes- very solid in both...
