Literally, the best thing they could have done for a new Leader Ultra Magnus. Also very happy it's a leader class figure, as I always Imagine Ultra Magnus as one of, if not the biggest members of the Autobots, not including special cases such as city bots or combiners.

I've figured out why Optimus has the big lights.
The toyline's subtitle is 'seige', it's supposed to be a heavy battle lots of smoke, in the dark Prime needs the lights to navigate well.

It's nothing concrete but it's on the slide showing the title and the graphic showing chromia, the ark and so forth. I mean they could just be for the purposes of illustrations but red alert is the double of sideswipe (which I guess he's supposed to be as they share mold practically all the time)

As far as Micromasters, they have improved the articulation. Looks like Individual legs, with a ball joint hip, and knee mobility. Arms look like a single ball joint, but that's not a big deal to me.

Definitely an upgrade to the originals. Now, it's time to play the guessing game as to what the Decepticon half of waves 1 and 2 look like. Wonder what they are trying to hide.

Also, was there any sign of Titan-class this year? I thought that last year they showcased something at SDCC.

I'll reserve judgment on Cog, to see if/how he actually interacts with TR Fort Max

They sure did a good job of getting the G1 robot mode right on Ultra Magnus, and then (classic) RID Magnus for the alt mode.

Still going to be hard to beat CW Ultra Magnus though.

Looks like I'm going to have to set up a separate shelf for this line, was hoping it could be incorporated into neo-G1 but that Ironhide won't fit, and that oh so very very nice Cog won't either.

Ironhide looks like fun, but without Ratchet, I'll probably get him for play value vut I dont think he'll replace the Votcon duo just yet

I was hoping for an Ironhide, but at the Voyager scale. Looks like this guy is just Deluxe class. I wonder if he will at least be a little bigger in stature than the Universe 2008 Ironhide mold. Siege Ironhide does look good in robot mode, and I'll be sold if we get a Ratchet retool and redeco to go with him.

Unless Chromia does turn out to be Combiner Wars compatible, she's a hard pass. The Thrilling 30/TF Legends version is far superior. I don't need another member of Alpha Trion's Angels with the same body type either. Moonracer and Firestar are sufficient for that mold.

Hound looks VERY interesting. I'm digging that his alt mode pretty much looks like his old G1 jeep alt mode with a roof. It can easily pass as a mildly stylized Earth-based vehicle. His Universe 2008 mold still holds up quite well, though.

Ultra Magnus is a neat surprise, with his alt mode being decidedly Car Robots/RiD 2001 in style and using the original G1 "white Optimus Prime with armor pieces" gimmick. However, as I said a few pages back, I'm happy with the Combiner Wars mold, so this is also a pass.

All of the Battlemasters and Micromasters will be bought. No doubt about that. It's interesting to see that the Battlemasters won't strictly be "Targetmasters," but include melee weapons as well as guns.

Chromia would be my pick of the bunch. Lets hope she doesn't get short packed like Moonracer did. Still never found that figure

Hm not really digging the style of these. Way too blocky for my tastes. It's cute seeing the Micromasters back though but each patrol seems to have lost half of it's members? I was quite fond of the Race Car Patrol back then but my fave was the yellow Lambo (free wheeler i think his name was) who isn't in that shot. Always did like the Battle Patrol's earthy tones too. I'd like to see Micromasters next to Legends/Legion figures though I suspect the Micros are a smaller scale going by their simpler look and obvious screw hole in the torso. Basically the old size but with more articulation?

So...who wants to translate the Cybertronian (or is it Japanese...I cant tell...) on Stakeout's Car Door, being so obvious this time around, I would hope it would not be something offensive to some, or at least it could be caught in time for Hasbro to make the change...
