WWE Canadian wrestler Benoit, wife and son found dead
It's strange... I remember reading that Benoit had a family emergency on Saturday, and was then a little surprised to see he missed the Pay-Per-View on Sunday. And then, on break at work, one of my co-workers broke the news. We didn't hear a lot of the details before we got home.
I was reading a commentary about it, and just seeing it written that Benoit may be a murderer... it's just so surreal. I'm one of the people who, in all honesty, will have my opinions of the man completely changed if things are the way they're starting to look like they are.
I feel for his son, most of all. I can't imagine how terrifying that must have been for him. There are just... no words.

Unfortunately it is looking like a murder - suicide..
Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).

I haven't watched wrestling for a few years now, but Chris Benoit was one of my favourites. Very sad.

But it is like i have been saying online to my pals last night, nothing will be confirmed until the investigation is done and the bodies have been autopsied. At this point..it's all wild theories.

Things aren't looking pretty in this tragedy....
As of now, we know that tonight's ECW broadcast/SmackDown! taping will go on as scheduled, with no planned tribute to Benoit (because of the now-sordid scenarios of what happened) and no McMahon death storyline (which now seems like an afterthought).
No tribute...

I'm not a wrestling fan, I haven't been for quite some time. However, after hearing this and seeing the live interviews (online and on the air), it really hit me how powerful this juggernaut industry really is.
I can't remember his stage name, but I believe he was called "The Edge"...when I saw him break down and cry...I realized that it goes beyond scripts and fake blood and staged hits and falls.
Some people would laugh at him for crying or lose respect (and you know it's true) but I didn't. No, I saw a grown man who truly was grieving, a man who truly was devastated and lost one of his only true friends in the world. I wanted to cry with him, even though I've got absolutely no emotional attachment to this whole thing...once I saw him, a wrestler, show his human side...that's what got me.
Then I saw a picture of his wife and son and realized that this was not only real, but horrific not only in the details, but for the simple, sad fact that it happened. Period.
People keep saying "No, no, no, it couldn't be him!" "He didn't do it!" "The wife did it!" etc...
Well, why couldn't he have done it?
1.) The wife died Saturday. (She was the first to go.)
2.) He was human. I'm not condoning, nor understanding why he did it, but I can believe he did it. He's human and his profession has a track record of people dying, steroids, etc. And the question is...what do you do with a wrestler who is washed up, or on his way to being washed up? Granted, he was still active in the business as of the time that the murders took place, but perhaps he was near the end of his career (without public knowledge) and he just couldn't bear the thought of it. Maybe he thought "What the hell am I going to do now?"
The police and coroner know what happened, they're just waiting for final confirmation, but if you've ever watched a cop show...they pretty much know from the getgo what went on.
They say the wife died first on Saturday? I believe them.
They say he canceled appointments, etc? I believe it.
They have facts and info on the case that we won't see until they're ready to release it. Once they do, we'll see for sure, but they know what went down and how.
I'm sorry guys and gals, but he did it. Not the wife, not an outsider, but Benoit himself. He did the killings. I'm not saying this to speak ill of the dead, but to tell the truth.
If we all turn a blind eye to this, we'll look away from any truth, no matter how heinous it may be. That's how the problems begin.
He was a hero to millions, and I'm sure he was a hell of a guy, but for some reason he threw that all away this past weekend and there's nothing you, nor anyone else can do to change it.
I'll never understand why you'd kill your own wife and kid, but it's humanly possible, and as we've all seen...he was human...no matter how much of a "God" people made him out to be.
In the end, all we can do is hope the remaining family can carry on with life, and that none of them suffered a slow, painful death.
....and realize that even heroes are imperfect, contrary to popular belief.

Yes I know, but after reading that report it sounds like there could have been a tribute but since it is looking like he may have done it they are going to not sensationalize it.

i think the WWE is spot on with this one, there is no way they should do a trubute, what with all the murder rumours flying about. I think that IF he did do it then, the WWE should offer no further tributes whatsoever!

I was deeply saddend by the news when I heard this morning.
I agree with a lot of what has been said here but I do believe there should be some sort of minor tribute on each show i.e. just the Benoit graphic. He may be a hero fallen from grace but he should still be remembered for being a great performer.
Regardless of the details of his families end he still deserves his accomplishments to be acknowledged even in a minor way.
I'm not saying anyone should glamourise what happened but his wrestling career should at least be acknowledged on the other WWE programming of which he was a part.

According a report by the Associated Press, Chris Benoit is believed to have strangled his wife Nancy and smothered their son Daniel, before hanging himself, according to a source very close to the investigation.

I wonder if this is why they took all of the Beniot articles off the WWE's main page and replaced it with normal articles.

I don't think the company wants to "advertise" a death of a murderer. They did the same at TNA's website. they took of the metion that he had died. Man this sucks. I'm still curious in why he did it though...
