Mind you as I mentioned previously, been a victim of henkei Starscream two left leg syndrome too (x2) (like diem that's strike two) but thank Primus, just got my piranacon chrome version, aside from some mold degradation and loose connections, all are complete and no mis-assembled parts.

That's good to hear, I'm pleased for you and hopefully this will go someway to put people at ease.

I'm still waiting for shipping confirmation on mine tho' :-(

Again, this may or may not apply to the non chrome sword exclusive version for the US. Just keep your fingers crossed people.

And btw, not owning an original, I can't tell the difference but an expected result would be that some molding portions look rough. Label application are ace, some looseness in attaching to the right leg and the figure feels light.

His instruction manual is reminiscent of the Japanese G1 TFs........black and white in somewhat newsprint feeling paper (absolutely useless btw) 'cause you have to just follow the illustration and strain your eyes if you got it right.

And is he loaded with all sorts of contraptions (for the target master mode display most probably)

No. Fenrir is mistaken. The US exclusive version (which is the same as what will be released all over the world, and is currently available from RobotKingdom) comes with the chrome sword.

I'm not sure where he got the idea that it wouldn't, but he was simply mistaken.

I read somewhere here that the BBTS exclusive version will be unchromed. At least that's how I understood it.

I finally got round to opening my Commemorative Seacons and they are all absolutely fine.
No loose parts/missing accessories etc.
My only complaint is that there is too much green and not enough blue in the paint scheme. 4 of them have pink and 4 of them have green but it's much more prominent than the pink. It would look much better if one more of them was blue to balance the colours better.
I do however think that the colours are way better than the TFCC reissue which looked dull.

Is there anyway we could have an informal poll? I'm betting that <<50% are having major problems like wrong parts, missing accessories, etc.

I had Snaptrap when I was younger (and still do) and am excited to have even a mostly complete set of Seacons. True, $60 is a chunk of change; but it's a good price for gestalt re-issue. I'm leaving my pre-order up, I'll just be sure to give it a very through inspection when it comes.

I Pre-Ordered mine for the august shipment at BBTS, so I'm still waiting for it, as soon as it, and animated Rodimus arrive at BBTS I'll have them shipped. and I'll post the faults if any (crossing figures for no faults).

That is the TFCC version which came out I think last year and was sold out even before it was in-stock. The sold-out one is not the same as this one here.

Weapon: Switch Blade Tail
Got mine in today.

Here's the rundown on mine:

All pieces were there, and the correct ones. Pins too. (Previous reviews had me worried.)

The color scheme of the original is much more appealing, this one tends to blend together for the most part.

Some figures are too tight, others are too loose.

Some of the assembly is nice and tight, some of it's not only loose, but it's incorrect. For example, one of the rear legs on Snaptrap has it's metal post coming out and the leg's screw needs to be tightened. I've got some work to do on this guy. Not to mention, his head is put on at an angle, so his face looks to the left a bit instead of straight ahead. (This is probably fixable, but irritating.)

I owned God Neptune and now that I have Piranacon's reissue, I'm seeing what the people were talking about. It's not just a case of mold degradation, but the original molds were flawed.

This set is definitely imperfect. It doesn't help that Hasbro used KO level plastic on some of the pieces. The backside of Snaptrap's shield? Warped and wrinkly and thin, much like a KO.

Sometimes when I combine them, I worry that the connectors are going to break, heads or posts. In fact, the left arm of Piranacon can't be moved. It's so tight, I was sure it was going to snap the head off of Seawing. (I ended up moving Snaptrap's entire arm just to reposition it for posing.)

Some of the figures are in excellent condition. Some have floppy fins, ill fitted body pieces with gapping. Some are a mess, such as Snaptrap.

For the accessories and the good figures alone, the price is worth it. I do recommend buying the originals of the figures that do have problems, and just use the reissue pieces with them.

The set's not a total wash, and I'm not sorry I spent the $60.00, but it's not quite up to par as I had hoped.

I'll give it a B-

The packaging, however, is gorgeous. The chrome on the box and the sword just makes him looks dazzling in the package.

If you're looking for an affordable Piranacon with all the bells and whistles, this is your ticket. If you're looking for perfection, you'll be seriously let down.

I'm just glad it wasn't as bad as some of the other sets I've heard about. Diem got the short end of the stick on his.

Something to try (I have a vague memory doing it myself years ago when I got an old original Snaptrap) is to get a flat head screwdriver the same width as the head and use that to loosen things up.

I've had my set about a week now, but just opened it tonight. Mainly because of this thread, wanted to see how I fared. Guess I got lucky, no missing pieces, no jacked up decals, everything seems perfect. This guy will be going on display and my TFCC will be going back into it's display box.
