This KFC version seems like the worst of the lot,in design & size. It's bad enough when Hasbro makes newer versions that are smaller than the original versions. I don't need 3rd parties to follow this example.

I thought it was obvious that we're talking about Soundwave, not Blaster ;)

There are 2 Blasters and this one Soundwave. The Blaster you saw a few posts before is a custom.

That's what Fansproject is doing with all of the Headmasters yet I seem to be the only one complaining about that.

Anyway, I think this mold actually looks really cool as Blaster, at least the custom does. I don't have a Classics Blaster yet (I do own WFC/FoC Blaster, both versions, but neither do I consider to be "Classics" because they're way too Cybertronian) so if they did it up close to how the custom looks, I might just get it for a reasonable price. I'm still not buying it for Soundwave though. I have ML Soundwave and he works just perfect for me.

Definitely lame.

I guess it's made that way so that the blaster can combine with the shoulder cannon in alt mode.

Perhaps if the base gun was blue as well it wouldn't look that lame?

As cheap and nasty looking as expected. That Ratbat looks like the best homage so far though, and I would definitely get it and oust my BTS Nightfang if it was available separately.

That Ratbat looks really out of place with the Masterpiece figures! Think I will stick with my recent decision to get MP Soundblaster seeing as it is only $60 more, and not only will I get another awesome Soundwave figure, but that Ratbat will be a million times better than KFC's usual crap.

I dont think that Ratbat was made to go with MP figures as it comes with a deluxe scale figure. ;)

Cassettes kind of are an exception to the MP scale. By G1 cartoon standards, MP cassettes scale much better with the classics line. They look way out of scale with MP Soundwave. Especially Ravage. I bought MP Soundwave just for the cassettes and have never transformed him. Ill probally end up buying a Soundblaster for Ratbat as well. Im holding out for a cheaper Hasbro release or a KO version of Ratbat.

Doesn't matter what he was made to go with, there are those who would add this Ratbat to their MP collection if he was sold separately (just like the MP version) ;)

Then there is the fact that the MP cassettes are the same size as the G1 casstttes which allows for them to be used pretty much anywhere a collector wants to (that includes the KFC cassettes seeing as they are trying to make them in that scale) ;)

MP cassettes scale really well according to the G1 Scale Chart the MP line is using as a guide these days ;)

The way Takara MP molds are making their way to the KO factories quite easily these days, we'll probably see KO Soundwave/blaster and Ratbat come spring!

We have seen images of KFC CST-07 BadBat packaging, and considering KFC are out to make money (like all fan-run companies) so I would assume we will see BadBat up for order come the New Year. ;)

Maybe if Ravage was supposed to be the size of a housecat next to his master. And Lazerbeak would be the size of a pigeon on Soundwave’s arm. For the MP line, Soundwave grew and the cassettes shrunk all due to the “it must fit inside his chest” gimmick. No very cartoon accurate because on screen they were upsized upon transformation to portray the scale of an actual jaguar and condor next to a human (Soundwave) but on a larger scale.

The proof’s in the pics. MP cassettes are not really cartoon accurate. But it does vary from scene to scene Ill give you that. ;)

I don't think anyone needs to justify including MP cassettes in their Classics collection. It's your collection. There's not really a need to justify anything.

Personally, I think they look fine. Maybe it's because the G1 toon was very inconsistent with sizes that way. Yeah, there's a scale chart, but it's more like a scale guideline than anything else. The movie was stricter with it's scales, but I'm sure you could find some problems (Grimlock, I'm looking at you, buddy).

For myself, I have my cassettes all in their own little display. MP, Classics, G1, 3rd Party. They're just all in there with the various colourations of Soundwave and Blaster.

Exactly! I personally prefer using the datadiscs, but that's just my preference!

KFC are clearly trying to pass these off as MP scale, if they weren't then they would never have posted this,
Image ;)

X, you have constantly disregarded and ignored the reasons for the way the MP line is being done because it doesn't cater to your specific needs. The MP cassettes, while not completely perfect, are much closer to MP scale than Classic, but can reasonably be used for either. To make a claim about the scale of a line you actively ignore is kinda arrogant :BANG_HEAD:

The MP line is about cartoon accurate figures. Considering the animators completely screwed up the scale on a regular basis Takara is using the guide the animators were supposed to follow to keep everything coherent. I'd have though a G1 nut like yourself would appreciate the effort they are making [-( (P.S. this is not an excuse for more "coffee table" verbal diarrhea)

Now can we please get back to how crap KFC products are :P Gotta say, I'm liking the cassette mode for Badbat. KFC doesn't usually manage to make a good cassette mode with these, but this time they've done it!

Sure. I'm passing on this guy too because I'm very worried about plastic quality.

HOWEVER at 20-25 bucks each, they make good Classics cassetes. They're certainly not worthy of the name Masterpiece, but they look better on the shelf than the flat G1 Cassettes that I still have.

Alas Ratbat's not being sold seperately, which is a shame because I would've gotten him had it not been for that Perceptor in Decepticon drag that he come with.
