So, tell me, what was my opinion on this KO before the price was revealed? Go on, you know, after all you've read them all.
And the ones who refuse to buy these, you see them popping up more often now when the pre-orders for new MPs pop up, and I wasn't going to state any names.
I've been on this board for so long, I've read so many posts by so many different people, and I see patterns. My opinion on KOs was formed over those years as a reaction to those posts, and my beef is with that specific kind of poster I see so often. And I stated in my post which kind of KO buyer annoys me.
Do you fit the bill?
No?
Then my reply about which kind of KO customer pisses me off wasn't directed at you, I simply told you which kind of KO customer I disliked.
yes i read everything. but four pages blend together pretty easily. and i obviously havent been here as long as you so i dont know these people youre referencing. you can see why i didnt fully understand where all the angst came from.

But in my travels to the Phillippines, I could see how online shopping may not be an option for the lower class who usually only make cash purchases. I can understand why high quality KO's would be hot in small markets located in rural areas. For us high quality KO's are a means to save a few bucks. For them, high quality KO's are the real deal. They might not even know who Hasbro is in some parts of Asia. But they know who Optimus Prime is...
Other than China and Singapore, I don't know where else anyone in such a market would have a chance to buy any of these KOs that wasn't online. I don't know of any other markets that carry them in stores domestically, at least I've never heard of them doing so and that's where they always seem to ship from on ebay (the reason I typically try to avoid buying anything shipping from China or Singapore if it's something that I know has been or I suspect could possibly have been KO'd as I'd rather pay more to get it shipped from someplace far less likely to have the KO to decrease the chances that I'm getting ripped off/not getting a legit figure). Of course with new stuff, I generally just go the BBTS route anyway, but that's neither here nor there.

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I am that which is, which was, and is yet to come.

Is that the entirety of the review? Or is something missing? It seems to skip over robot mode, just jumping straight into transforming him, then looking at the vehicle mode. Also, other then some differences in the deco, and talking a bit about the pegs that hold the legs together, you don't show off the differences or alleged "improvements" at all, other then briefly mentioning a size difference in the robot mode... that being the robot mode the review seemed to totally skip over. (Well, not totally, I suppose... We saw it for half a second before you began transforming it...)
Is there another part to this video that is missing, or something?
Anyway, based on what I did see, colour me unimpressed... my opinion on KOs is not improved by this offering. Maybe it will improve with multiple transformations, but the force you needed to push in the legs seemed way too excessive. Same with the smoke stacks. And the fit on all of the pieces that form the front of the cab seemed horrendous. You said something about it looking better then photos you saw online. If this was better, I'd be scared at what you consider worse. Is the front really that poorly fit together, or did you mistransform something somewhere?
If my official MP-10 had been like this, I'd have been pissed off. Maybe even returned it! If this is what the KO is like, then I shall stop being annoyed at it existing. Rather, I shall just have a somewhat melancholy amusement at the poor people who pay more for this then what I paid for my official one, get less accessories to boot, and then convince themselves that it isn't that bad, and they can live with poorly fit parts that lead to overtightness in some areas and gaps other areas on their alleged "masterpiece" of a figure.

Your a genuis in discovering the gold painted parts can be returned back to silver chrome. Using rubbing alcohol & a few Q-Tips. I have something called Orange Glo that I use for similar things.

Ah, thanks.
Well, I've watched the portions of the review that were missing previously... And that just made me feel even more secure in my opinions towards this. To my previous list of negatives, I'd add the loose arm joints, the poorly sculpted hands that are also missing the groove for the gun's handle, and the windshield wipers (which you even pointed out as a detrimental "improvement") that look oh so prone to just snapping off someday if one is not extremely careful.
Personally, I think that even with the current after-market mark ups, the official one would be the way to go. Part of that might be because I'm a sucker for a trailer, and that this one doesn't come with one would make the extra expense (if I didn't buy one when they were originally available) worth it. But even trailer aside, this KO seems to suffer from quality control issues, the fit on some of the joints seems either too loose (arms) or too tight (collapsible legs and smokestacks), and many of the alleged improvements seem to be actually making the figure worse. The only good improvement seems to be making the legs peg together better, and frankly it isn't that much of an issue. On my official one, they seem to peg in well enough to not be too annoying (certainly less annoying then how I'd feel about what I don't like in this KO) and also they really hold together well when they have the trailer on.
I think it is no secret that I'm not a fan of KO's. But I tried to watch this review with an open mind, too see if my objections to it would be purely ethical, or if there would be (in my opinion) legitimate problems with it. And in the end, I think there definitely are.
Well, to anyone who was asking for a KO MP-10, enjoy!
(My negativity isn't intended to reflect poorly on your review, by the way. You did a decent job showing off the figure.)

My extra one's on eBay if anyone wants it. It would make a great piece for customizing and kitbashing.
EDIT: Forgot my pic.
