It seems a lot of fans are jumping ship from the TFC Toys Hercules. Maybe this direct competition will force a price reduction on their part. Hopefully it will at least force them to reveal the complete Hercules combiner so that collectors can compare the two.
We are yet to see Mixmaster and Bonecrusher, and we do not know if their Devastator will have the purple (or blue #-o

going by recent pics) chest wing.

I personally do not own the energon combiners so having the Maketoys version the same size as them means little to me. I prefer the look of the bot modes of the TFC version from what I can see of the blurred images. But the selling point of both figures is the combined mode.

Come on TFC, Maketoys has showed us their hand, let us see yours!

I still need to see a price before I decide to turncoat on TFClub. If the price is at all similar, I'll be sticking with Hercules.

All I can say is thats amazing. Quite frankly the best Devastator ive seen so far. Lots of detail and he looks properly hulking, great job. I would like to see more clearer pictures of the other bots both in robot and alt modes tho.

Does anyone else get the feeling that this will be sold as a full set of 6?

Maybe it's just they way they are presenting it to us compared to how TFClub handled Hercules.

Some people on TFW speculate that they are portable generators like some heavy equipment uses.

I think that if you look at Scavenger's alt and the joint in the forearm, that it could fold out and under and those wheels may be part of Savenger's alt mode. Part of the forearm would wrap up and around the back of the vehicle. Maybe...

Interesting...many are jumping ship from TFC to MakeToy.

I do like the appearance of the combined form, though as already noted in the thread, there looks to be quite a few extra parts that are used to combine and/or form the individual vehicle modes. I hope that if there are many extra parts that they're incorporated in all modes in a similar manner to FP's Combat Unit Colossus set.

The one detail that I noticed immediately from the photo of the combined form is that the elbow joints appear to be ratcheted. Very cool.

I'm apprehensive about this 3rd party product as it looks great as a prototype but it doesn't mean a thing until the completed product is in my hands where I can make a final judgment. However, I feel comfortable in buying both this and the Hercules set. I don't mind having two different 3rd party Devastator sets.

Was never really feeling the TFClub Devastator, but I am definitely loving what I'm seeing here with Maketoy's version. Looks like I found my Devy!

While I was considering the TFC version, I never pre-ordered it. Glad I didn't. The fact that this one won't tower over my Crossfire Bruticus is a major tipping point in their favor for me. This is the Dev for me. Hope they move on to doing more combiners in the future.

Or it could just mean Hercules doesn't see completion... I dunno, this one looks great, but from what we've seen of Hercules, I like how he's less of a partsformer. But I have more confidence about the quality of this one with FPs ties. I'm most interested in the cost of this one. If it's half the price, that would make this one more desirable...especially if it was released in one shot, which would really give this one that much more of an advantage...at least if they can get it out before Oct/Nov. Like my first line, I'm afraid Hercules doesn't get finished, especially after this news.

Now this is impressive. Even if they hold at scout scale they'll probably be a bit bigger than the Energon molds. I can't split hairs over the individual bots (even if they were clear) but the superb accuracy on Devy is stunning. And with their other projects, we may not even see this until late next year. Say, right after the TFC launch schedule is complete. Wouldn't that be a a remarkable coincidence?

People think the battle is of tastes for size and design, but that's our personal preferences. Other's might think that it's price, but TFC is actually pricing "reasonably" for a 3rd party deluxe/small voyager with three modes. Maketoy's practices are still unknown, but I doubt their stupid. Besides if you have the money it's not really an issue.

The real battle here is quality. From my passive observation in forums, TFC's has only been okay overall. The only "stand alone" toy since ol'wobblewheels was the Autoscout, but it impressed me enough to give the benefit of the doubt. This uncertainty is countered by Maketoy hasn't released anything yet. Their early items have to come out and really push they know what they're doing.

I'll get it depending on it's mobility and weight issues. My selling points are mobility, reliable joints, and aesthetics. I threw away Battle Rollar and IG-PP01 as I have no tolerance for crappy joints and weight issues. :BANG_HEAD:
