I'm not ready to give Maketoy a free pass on quality just because FP supports them. And there's something to be said for the old adage "biting off more than you can chew".

That said, I'm still willing to get their Devestator, funds permitting. It passes the eye test and that's all it really needs from me.

And neither am I. My opinion that they will most likely be similar quality is based on seeing them in person at Botcon. Barring the deciding to produce them in a different plastic between then and release, of course.

I'd venture that's a good guess, since they had working unpainted prototypes of both the minibots and the G2 OP Trailer set at botcon. Looked to be the same materials that FP was using with the products sitting right next to it, too.

I'd say it's a reasonable assumption the quality of MT products will equal or be near to FP products.

I wish I could have seen them in person at BotCon.

I wasn't saying either way. I'm simply speculating. In my mind, being affiliated with the best third party company is a reason to expect the best, not worst.

I know this is an assumption, but I figured IF FP is backing these guys, then the quality of their product is good. I mean hell, if K.O.'s are being bought, then why not give these guys a chance anyways. As for time- I'm not in a rush, myself. I kind of figured that the first one would be available for preorder until next year. That gives me enough time to save up as I'm X-Mas shopping.......

I'm still sticking with Hercules because well... MT hasn't come out with anything and I haven't had any problems myself with TFC's products.

No, sorry. I own both their GoW sets. The first one does have the slight problem of the chrome being a bit too thick, but I don't fire off missiles so them sticking together like that is a plus for me. And their second one is just sick. Not a problem in that set and it's just great all-around.

My Battle Roller was a little loose... and I guess my complaint is it feels more like a model kit... slightly fragile and thin. You can definitely tell it's an adult collectible and not an official toy. It displays well, though. I can't gripe as long as the quality, detail/sculpt are up to specs. It feeling light or a little loose is a very minor complaint.

As applies to Build-Devastator... I'll be really glad when we can hear from reviewers on BOTH these guys. Just having someone say it "feels" right will say volumes.

Hey, I haven't posted here in a long long time and was wondering if anyone has heard any projected release dates for any of the Build figures??

As for that matter, any word on the minibots???

From what I can see, I like the aesthetic of the individual robots for the Maketoys Devastator better. I think of those guys being more lean, lanky-looking bots. And the combined form looks on point. I'm anxious to see images that show the whole head/face.
The scale of Hercules is really appealing, but I'm not at all impressed with the look of Exgraver... Even though I actually dig that the wrist/hand are part of the figure, I'm one of those people who are more concerned about the appearance of bot mode rather than alt mode. I look at that figure, and it's pretty 'mehhhh'. And it actually made it worse once I saw photos of its scale compared to other figures. In terms of being a limb, the scale of it is cool. Otherwise, I won't be able to justify the cost. I'm pretty sure it's going to take a hugely positive impression from the final combined Hercules photos to change my mind. I guess we'll see.

I can't vouch for the validity of this, but according to a post on TFW:

I contacted Maketoys and I received their official reply surprisingly:

Height: approx. 400mm
Price: 30,000 to 40,000 yen (I assume that's for all six bots... Better be!)
Release date: 2012 (No time frame specified)

But by the pic, I think it is a bit short of 400mm.

Take it for what it's worth...

So it's 15.7 inches? That's quite a bit taller then Unicron. and slightly cheaper at 520$ if it's 40,000yen. although less affordable if it's the entire kit all at once.

Do we know TFC Herc's combined height measurement yet?

Keep in mind that MakeToy info could be wrong...

Hercules will be approx. 12 inches from head to toe. About the same height as a TF United deluxe package.

That cannot be right. Maketoy is promising to be in scale (and proportion) with FansProject Colossus because they're sticking to scout scale. There is no way Exgraver is on something only a foot tall.

Hercules has been advertised by TFC to be 30cm on one of their earliest preview 'posters'. The TF United box is 12". The pic shows the Hecules prototype being about the same size as the box...not sure what there is to dispute there.

Now the email claiming MakeToy's fig being 40cm despite them releasing pics of it with Bruticus, that I can see disputing.
