I'll wait for TFC or MMC to get around to Computron.

Just out of curiosity, do you have Giant? I think I remember you getting Herc but I couldn't remember if you double dipped or not.

Nope, just Herc.

I didn't like the individual bot modes on Giant or the need for extra pieces.

But I do have the FP upgrades for Bruticus, and a heavily customed (but not FP) Energon/Generations Superion. So Menasor fits in with them, sort of.

I had reservations about the FP Menasor from the pics, but people were raving about it, so I jumped in. Everything I didn't like from the pics/reviews, I still didn't like in hand.

So, that was the camel straw for me and the smaller scale combiners. Gotta make choices somewhere.

Computron is a favorite of mine, and one of the combiners I had as a kid, so the nostalgia string is tugging hard for this one, but I'm resisting. :D

Yeah, I can understand that. If Herc was my stand in Devestator, I wouldn't go for this either. I don't think the TFC aesthetic goes well with that of MT or FP.
As far as build quality & stability goes, Giant is better than FP's Menasor IMO. So hopefully Computron continues that trend.

I have Herc & M3, and think they go pretty well together. TFC just nailed the big boxy construction vehicles look, which in my opinion, contrasts (and scales) nicely with the slender sports/race car limbs on M3. I think they'll look more cohesive as a squadron of gestalts once I complete Feral Rex - I think the aesthetics each company brings to those 3 really highlights their different personalities, but that's just me. The slight height differences don't bother me much, either.

Computron... we'll see. I want to see color renders or prototypes, but right now I have no plans to get this.

I have Herc to & I agree that the boxy look really works for the Constructicons. I'm just a sucker for FP/MT aesthetics so I bought Giant to go with my other combiners. I think MMC's Feral Rex will compliment them well.

Maybe it'll look better in color, but that combined mode looks like a train wreck. Each vehicle/bot looks like it's been turned inside out to become limbs. It completely kills the spirit of the G1 Scramble City combiners for me. This is the main problem I have with my FP not-Stunticons (other than the small size, of course). The legs on not-Menasor are great (though I don't like how the cars aren't really legs and more like shin guards, but at least they look good/like cars acting as legs) but the arms are just junky looking. All 4 limbs on this thing are reminding me of that same look. As I said though, maybe they'll look good in color, and if they look good enough, I will buy them because I loves me some Technobots. Of course, worse comes to worse I can always buy this set for the individual bot and/or vehicle modes and await TFC's efforts for the combined mode (assuming TFC still plans on doing the Technobots and Terrorcons).

Am I the only one who was expecting better alt modes ? The one thing giants individual bots had going for them was cartoon accurate alt modes.

Personally I'm ok with them. They're pretty much the same, just more stylized.

Ya, I agree. I like them. Very Cybertronian.

With two done, maybe they'll release in a 2pack, 2pack, big inner bot sequence? I'd like to spread out the cost over several months...

Yeah, I'm not really feeling them either. The combined mode (or what I've seen of it so far) has been a let down and now the alt modes appear the same way. I dunno, maybe I'm just too picky with some characters/combiners but they're just not grabbing me yet.

I think it was a given the TFC Quantron alt modes would be terrible. Considering the 1987 Technobots alt modes were not that great to begin with.

Agreed. I'm quite pleased with the way everything looks and those colours look real nice. I was getting impatient with the trickling of images on this set. It's nice to see a full out collage of combined and individual high res pics of the team come all at once.
