Price around 400$
Size, same size (or a little big bigger) than omega supreme with mt add on kits.
Maybe will be the possibility to combine metroplex and omega supreme in base mode.

Not saying it doesn't look interesting... But Hasbro just released a fairly good representation of this character, in likely a larger scale and for likely a smaller price.
Of course, I'm one of those who is of the opinion that if Hasbro or Takara have already done (or there are indications that they soon will do) a character in the Classics line-up, unless their version is fairly universally seen as a complete fail (for example, Devestator) then the third parties should consider that figure to be hands off as far as doing complete toys. Third parties should stick to accessories/upgrades (such as Fansproject's City Commander, or what Maketoys themselves are doing with Omega Supreme), and save original mold full figures for characters that haven't been touched yet.
I suppose I'll keep an eye on this as a curiosity... If there was no official Metroplex, this is something that could have been cool. But my interest shall be the detached interest of someone with no intention of ever owning this product.

Many speculated, and I agree Maketoys have probably been developing this for a while before HASBRO announced Generations Metroplex out of nowhere last year at toy-fair.
I just hope the failure of this doesn't bankrupt Maketoys. I really love a lot of the stuff they've put out.

And, at the risk of sounding like a cold S.O.B., that's the risk all third parties take when playing in somebody else's sandbox. You always take the risk that one of the other interlopers in the sandbox, or the owner of the sandbox itself, will beat you to the punch.

WuLongTi This is based purely on lining up the pattern on the floor in the pics. I've left the parts of each pic showing the floor for you to decide for yourselves.

I had a feeling this would be the case... And having a Metroplex that small just seems too out of scale with Classics style figures.
Not that scale is ever the most consistent thing in Transformers toys... but Metroples as a figure needs to be designed so that it can have interaction with other figures. He's not just a robot, he's a playset (or, "display accessory," for my fellow adult collectors) for your other figures it interact with.
G1 Metroplex, for example, worked really well scale-wise with G1 Minibots and/or Scramble City limbs. The Hasbto/Takara figure works really well with most Classics style toys. Legends, Scout, and smaller Deluxe figures probably look best, but even larger figures look pretty good when placed near him! I have a hard time thinking that a Metroplex as small as this one that Maketoys is producing will be able to pull off anything along these lines:

Rather, if you try and place this with your Classics collection, this figure will just stick out like a sore thumb for being so small compared to how it should be, especially in city or battlestation modes.

That is an Awesome pic of your display accessory! Makes me want to do the same with mine.... just so damn lazy to take everything off the shelf and transform it... =/
As for Maketoy's Metroplex... Maybe they can just give us a Necrotitan and skip the Metroplex all together.

Ha ha... To be fair, one minor drawback to the large size is that, for where I display my Metroplex, city mode is all but impossible unless I take him down and play with him on the floor!
I had thought that for everyday display, he'd be limited to robot mode. Fortunately, I discovered that the space I had for him would actually accommodate his battle station mode, as well. And as an added bonus, that allows me to use his flight deck as a platform for other figures to give those in the back rows more visibility rather then have them mostly hidden by those in front of them!

well mine Generations Metroplex is displayed on the floor with Fort Max... sigh... lack of space... I just don't want to keep adding wall shelves.

****. I was afraid that was going to happen. If there's one thing that'd really increase the chance of me buying this figure, it'd be the prospect of having a Trypticon the same size as Metroplex.
I'd still much prefer someone to do a Trypticon to mach the Generations Metroplex.

Funny, because Planet X's Trypticon was speculation, yet a natural progression from their Genesis release. I'd say the public hadn't heard either an announcement from Planet X that it was going to happen much less that the project was halted.
Oh well, it's difficult to keep up with such costly releases. Besides, maybe Hasbro has a new Titan to show this Summer to pair nicely with last year *hopes*.

I think they're doing citybots in their scale. Metro would be the first, then Trypticon, then others. If they had started with Tryppie, we all would've complained because it's not in scale with Hasbro's Metroplex and we might not get it (though we totally would have).
To be fair, there might be enough interest in this to make it profitable. There's been a few complaints about HasTak's Metroplex being too big.
