I've been really rooting for this series, but I'm less impressed with what we've been seeing lately.

Optimus's alt mode is a joke. Really not up to scratch. Another example of using cybertronian form as an excuse for sloppiness. Though one thing I do like about it is the caterpillar tracks. That's kinda cool, though it doesn't seem to be executed particularly well.

Lockdown, I'm pissed off with. They totally wasted one of the most full-throttle awesome badass altmodes ever on a sorry phoned-in excuse for a bot mode. My only hope is that he can be somewhat redeemed from the depths of his lameness if I can work him into a more dynamic pose. Cause with that alt mode, he's a must-have.

Ninja-cycle Prowl, I'm disowning. Sorry, but he'll just have to fug off and see if they'll let him into the power-rangers or gobots or something. Far as I'm concerned, he's cast out of my conception of the transformers universe, for sucking too badly, for being an impostor, and for indecency.

Bumblebee and Bulkhead are pretty awesome though. They look be pretty solid toys. Great designs, and extra props for being so show-accurate. Best of the bunch so far, IMO.

I know this is a family site and all, but Prowl seems to have an, er, well, he seems to be anatomically correct.

Prowl is the best for me! Optimus, Bumblebee and Bulkhead are great. Lockdown doesn´t look bad. I want to see Soundwave and Lazerbeak.

they all look great to me, although Lockdown does look a lil odd in botmode (his alt mode kicks ass tho) :D

Prowl FTW! I think I'll get two and give the second one some G1 colors.

Nope not growing on me. Too stylised and charicatured, just leaves them looking childish. I know they are toys but even the worst of Energon felt more 'real' than these designs.
First glance at Lockdown's alt and I thought 'oooh 'but on second glance even that leaves me cold. A little more subtlety would have helped.

one thing i always liked about G1 and especially some of the later bricks after the microman/diaclone toys was the way the cartoon and box art 'animated' those blocks of plastic into more humanoid forms, I always recognised the limits of toy design being overcome through art and bringing the toy to life and I used to enjoy drawing an 'animated' version of my own when looking at the angular static little blockman.

These toys are almost too clever for their own good, the animated version and the box art (same in this case) are just like the toy, you dont have to make that leap of faith so to speak!! Aside from that i think these are great, im more excited by some more than others but I honestly will be suprised if kids dont love them, that is the acid test!! comments from adults like 'these suck' become meaningless.

I don't like any of these. I mean look at them! They look like fisher price toys...

People complained about how movie Optimus Prime looks but in comparison even Movie Megatron looks like the mona freakin' lisa in comparison to these things.

Because Hasbro wants all the decepticons to look bigger than the Autobots so they did some creative designing to get him to look bigger.

Whatchu talkin' bout, Willis? :???: I've just done a quick Google image search, and I can't see any Fisher Price cars covered in spikes, or warriors with battle axes.

Touche, but they still look lame. The only one i like is that green and black decepticon that turns into a batmobile looking type of thing. His robot mode sucks though. Ugly ugly ugly!

There is no way I'll get Bulkhead, he looks retarded. Lockdown is another story which everyone has already said my thoughts about him.

Wait, what? The movie TFs look way more Bionicle-like than the animated ones. (No offense meant, of course -- just sayin'. :D )

But yes, more for us! Perhaps I'll actually get to see some of these guys on the shelves, seeing as how I still haven't found a movie concept 08/09 BB yet. :P

I'm happy to see that 50% of the fans have no taste. Leaves more for those of us who do, cause these toys are gonna rock.

You watch though, all these haters will be the first people in TRU or Wal*Mart shoving you out of the way for them, the whole time complaining how much they suck.

Right now im not too interested in getting any of these ( who knows when i had heard about the Transformers movie toyline, i wasn't interested but of course when i saw them in person i jumped to collecting them). So its possible i may get some. Im digging Bulkdhead ( what can i say, i love the big bulky characters) and Lockdown , prime seems ok, not liking Alt mode too much right now(looks weird).

I'll most likely grow to like these molds/ figures. Most likely by the time i do want them they will be hard to get? :-?

edit: Meh im not liking Prowl, he reminds me of Beast Machines Silverbolt in robot mode, well kinda.

The same thing can be said for the you. I think these toys suck, and anyone who collects them has no taste. I swear, i wont be bothering with ANY of these, not even Prime or Bumblebee.

Unless the cartoon (which i still have reservations about) does something amazing and turns me into a raging fanboy for the series, i wont even so much as look at the cards for these toys in the store.

one thing i fail to understand are people who dismiss the animation toys as crap (which is fine)but then suggest that if the animation itself is great that they may then buy some of the toys, or similarly saying things like 'only a great story can redeem these toys'. I personally look to a toy on its own merits, im not seeing how the quality of the cartoon could affect ones view of a toy. This is rather like peole who dont like say g1 ironhide 'because its nothing like the animation' (even though due to chronology the point should be reversed).
