Shadowman wrote:So I know this is for TVs and movies but I'm not seeing a comic thread...
Anyone want to talk about what the hell Captain America just did in the comics? It's so stupid I'm not even going to bother with spoiler tags; Steve Rogers has been an Agent of Hydra since before he became Captain America. The character created by two Jewish men has, in fact, been a Nazi collaborator the entire time. The character who is the reason Hydra hasn't gotten anything done for the past 70 years has also been working for them.
I can't imagine Nick Spencer is going to be working for very long...

Burn wrote:The issue had flashbacks to his childhood, of a woman trying to recruit Steve's mother into the New York chapter of Hydra.
She even makes the comment that Steve is destined for great things. I'm suspecting there's been a manipulation of time.
Or Kobik screwed up when she restored him.
Either way, I think people are over-reacting far too quickly.
At the very least, it diverts attention away from that stupid Give Cap a boyfriend campaign.

Not as bad as Batman -vs- Superman:Dawn of a Crap Franchise, but it was three hours of Jennifer Lawrence screwing over a character, whilst the rest of the movie desperately tries to connect to the original trilogy. (Which I'll give it credit, it doesn't do a bad job of doing)

Hold on......3 hours? I'm sure it were 2.5 hours? unless you saw an extended version or something? or maybe your also counting the adverts & trailers in there as well, before the film.

dofp only SUGGESTED some of the events of the first films MAY NOT have happened or MAY HAVE happened a bit differently

X-Men 3 and X-Men Origins have clearly been excised from canon.

Of course I'm counting those. I had to sit through them. Therefore it was three hours of my life that I'm not getting back.
Don't even bother arguing, I get your point, but we're just going to be different on this.

Not everyone. X3 I could do without, but the 1st Wolverine movie I enjoyed for what it was. Not high on my grading of the X-universe films, and a definite black mark as far as how Deadpool was portrayed at the end, but otherwise I thought the dynamic between Victor and Logan was really good, as well as the inclusion of certain other characters from the universe. Also, I found Victor to be a much more enjoyable character than Logan, but that may have been due to Liev Schreiber's superior skills as an actor.Hellscream9999 wrote:Shadowman wrote:X-Men 3 and X-Men Origins have clearly been excised from canon.
To the relief of everyone

i need to see the new one to say what the case is now.
but first class and dofp did not "fully" excise anything from canon

and you like to make proclamations that things are either "A" or "B" when clearly their are far more many possibilities.Shadowman wrote:sto_vo_kor_2000 wrote:Shadowman wrote:sto_vo_kor_2000 wrote:ZeroWolf wrote:I thought dofp tried to disconnect it from the original trilogy?

No, it did. I know you like to argue the silliest little points, but in this case you're pretty clearly wrong.

I really wanted to see a shot with Jean, Hank, Scott, and Warren in the film, even if it was a battle scene. IIRC, they were the original 4 in the comics, right?

Rodimus Prime wrote:I have to disagree with you, Burn, about Mystique. To me she wasn't enough of a screen presence to detract from the film. She was just there for the sake of being there, it seems. Her role could have been filled by a few other characters. I did like the fact that she got her iconic blue-and-white outfit at the end.
