So they can get around it by using a credit card ten. CC needs an identifiable adult to own one ten.

This. JZGR sez it all. Malboor is Malboor because of the red orange pattern. Doing otherwise turns him into who the f*ck is that character?

Takara-Tomy has certainly done a number of recolors. Oddly enough, people can keep up with the changes, and that head/face is pretty much a dead giveaway. NO ONE has that look, nevermind that he's the only other bot to use the "Wheeljack" style mold.

And yet, everyone here seems to know who the character is even though he never came out here. Oh wait, what's his name again?
Exhaust.
Who?
Exhaust.
Who?
**sigh** Marboor, but he's been renamed "Exhaust" ok?
Ahaaaaa...gotcha.
"Who the f*ck is that character," indeed. Like I said, if they want to distribute here, they have a tried and true secondary option - a recolor. BT Prowl in both normal and dark blue flavors comes to mind. Again, I'm sure people can keep up if they decide to go that route...
...maybe.

this toy is from 1997. Who knows what the laws are now?
Public Health Law Center wrote:Among its many provisions, the MSA:
Forbids participating cigarette manufacturers from directly or indirectly targeting youth;
Imposes significant prohibitions or restrictions on advertising, marketing and promotional programs or activities; and
Bans or restricts cartoons, transit advertising, most forms of outdoor advertising, including billboards, product placement in media, branded merchandise, free product samples (except in adult-only facilities), and most sponsorships

.... That's assuming Hasbro even touches this bot. Between this and the whole Breaking Bad thing I could see them skipping Exhaust.

Note only that but also the "gypsy" logo of Gitanes. As for Jazz, that iconic "Martini multi color bar logo hopefully won't cause them trouble.

With Exhaust, we're talking about a distinctive piece of coloring that covers a large portion of his body. Changing it would change the basic look of the figure.

JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Wolfguard wrote:Because fans have only ever bought 100% replicas in the past. Bluestreak anyone?
Considering he was just called Streak in Japan (both G1 and MP)...
At any rate, Exhaust is based on a retool of G1 Wheeljack that only appeared in Diaclone and was never released as a Transformer. Given that the Wheeljack mold is broken, a reissue is unlikely, and that a "e-Hobby" G1 Exhaust is therefore impossible, this MP is the best we're going to get for that particular character.
TFU.info article on Marlboor Wheeljack
Also take into account MP Exhaust is not originally meant for the US market. The problem mainly comes from US-based sellers where that particular US-law applies.

I don't think I'm in the majority but I get tired of all the anti-smoking propaganda that's out there. I don't smoke...but I get tired of all the rhetoric. Especially when it results in things like this. We've become a nation of babies. Can't even sell a robot car that MIGHT look like a cigarette product.
