This thing looks absolutely hideous. I mean, I have nothing nice to say about this at all. The face is atrocious, the robot mode looks...bleh, and the jet mode is pretty lame too.

Not understanding what people like about this. I mean, those hips!

Also think this looks terrible in all modes. Always thought it was a ugly, Weirdly sculpted toy. Don't care for the engineering and joints tech either.

Think HasTak did a more than fine job creating a Skyfire cartoon update toy in the form of Classics 1.0 Voyager Jetfire.

Love the Upcoming HasTak 30th Leader Jetfire toy. As it's a fusion of a 1985 Jetfire toy jet mode with a 1985 Skyfire cartoon robot mode.

I want a real skyfire that doesnt transform into an out of scale fighter jet. The whole macross thing doesnt work for classics scale. I need that cybertronian cargo jet.

Im inclined to believe it will be mecha form who will be contacting the big 3 (BBTS, TFsource,Robotkingdom) If my retailer of choice was uncle billy or kapow, then Id be worried and start sending out e-mails. Bottom li e is they said its being produced so somebodys gonna be selling it. Even kronos got around to everybody and that run was supposedly very limited.

Without more detailed pictures and possibly some review samples sent out, what's the point of "fans" asking their retailers to carry the product? This is still an unproven company, no idea of the pricing much less the quality. Maybe it's just because I'm not interested in this product.

I own the hasbro skyfire too but I just cant stomach their alt mode. If the cockpit was any bigger it could fit GI Joes for crying out loud. So for me its all about the proper jet mode. Some people are complaining about the hips and face, but honestly Im not seeing what theyre seeing. Its pretty much on par with what you can expect from standard hasbro aesthetic which is a good thing. I dont need tons of extra lines and details or silly samauri styly hip armor. This is basically a CHUG scale kronos. Hopefully they made improvements in the transformation and engineering.

It's funny , MF said they made changes "fans" wanted to the face and hips and I can't tell a Fn difference :lol:

They also posted pics and in everyone the hips were blocked by its gun.

Well kronos was a piece of crP because of brittle plastic and floppyness during its transformation.

The cool thing here is that this skyfire actually transforms with the jets cockpit ending up where it was supposed to be. Hasbro totally dodged that and gave us a fake cockpit in robot mode, most likely to retain the silly "best of both worlds" gimmick with the vintage toy alt mode. This figure corrects all of that. You being a fan of super complex transformations, im suprised you support hasbros use of the fake cockpit...

Also im trying to see what fans dont like about the hips and face (im really trying) but I just dont see it. I mean really its not there. When I look at the face, I see the G1 cartoon which is exactly what I want. As far as the hips, all I notice is theres no bruticus waist plate or samurai style hip guards which seem to be fan favorites on 3rd party figures. Not so much my thing, especially the hip guards. So you see the thighs connect to the crotch...who cares ? Big deal. The planet x dinobots have the same type of legs with no waist/hip covers and nobody complains. Same thing with many hasbro figures.

It's quite obviously not the same though. The Planet X Dinobots have very unobtrusive looking pelvises that, even without skirting, still look fairly normal, and at the very least on-model to the game designs. Look at the hips. Huge chunks of what should be his pelvis detailing are instead attached to his upper thighs. It looks like pieces of his pelvis have been sawn off and glued onto his legs, which aren't properly attached and are instead floating in place. It just doesn't work and it's not even got the excuse of cartoon accuracy- the jet mode, as ugly and brickish as it is, at least has the excuse of looking like the G1 cartoon model. What they should have done is done a Gundam-style arrangement of "hip skirts" made of multiple hinged panels covering the hip joints.

As for Generations Jetfire, whilst he isn't a perfect figure he's hardly a bad one- he's decently poseable and looks good aside from a few hollow bits, and his jet mode (which is actually to scale with deluxe cars) is fantastic. Granted I don't think it works so well for the Seekers (I prefer Seekers Voyager-sized) but for Jetfire it works wonders. Also it's a nice shoutout to his roots as a reused Macross toy, and a damn fine looking jet to boot.

Yeah, that face could definitely be better. And I second the hip comments; why not go with the "skirt" thing most toon-striving toys go for?

Nobody's said anything about their either, but I hate the Autobot logo placement indicator being so defined. I can't see a ready made faction symbol going there nicely, and that means extra dough spent on getting a hypothetical Reprolabes sticker to get the look juuuuuust right.

Well, I was never likely to get this. Generations Jetfire fills my Jet/Skyfire needs well enough and I have that black Jetfire for my Decepticons, so both looks are in play.

Looks on par to me. Funpub has butchered heads a lot worse.

I could understand the hate for the IT Tetra Jet heads, but I think the negativity for this one is exaggerated. Ditto for the hips. I tend to look at figures for what they are, not what they aren't. In this case, I see a screen accurate Skyfire. For me, its worth the price. I hated the Macross jet being in Transformers to begin with. The G1 cartoon gave the character a real identity instead of being a Robotech repaint.
