I didn't rite TF off when was revealed as the director I just became aprehensive I think Bay has been fortunate in his career to hire Actor who could get away with being thereselves on screen. B willis. Martin Lawrence and will smith, But when comes to creating a character from scratch I dont think Bay has what it takes. But there are too many people who don't care and just want to see stuff blow up.

Are you suggesting that Beast Machines wasn't a departure from all the things that made Beast Wars so very enjoyable? Nightscream, Botanica, Primal sitting around and babbling about spiritual crap like a hippie, having to meditate just to transform, obvious and completely unwanted plot-twists, the retconning of the history of Cybertron... or did you mean to imply something else?

I apologise I meant to congratulate you guys and the fans like you who have kept an open mind. After I got over my initial joyful reaction that we were finally getting a live action movie I became a little bit cautious after seeing what damage Hollywood can do. Most well-known big-budget directors can direct better car chase scenes than Bay because most directors don't cram an unnecessary amount of cuts into every 30 seconds of film, most realize that cars blowing-up without any realistic reason for doing so is idiotic (seriously, cars haven't burst into flames that arbitrarily since the early Ford Pinto), and most realize that without a steady frame of reference a lot of people are going to find it hard to follow what the hell is going on. I think that's a testament to how divisive Bay's previous credits are. There are a great deal of people who love his films but then there are people like me who mildly enjoyed The Rock and thought everything else he did was hard to sit through. And here's something for the Bay Hater's to chew on. Bay is the director. If you you don't like the script, blame Krutzman and Orici. Don't like the 'Bot designs, blame ILM. Don't like the direction in which the film is going, blame the executive producer Steven Speilberg and the owners of the property Hasbro. All this "b4y r4p3d my ch1ldh00d, ZOMG OH NO3S, scr3w u B4Y" is so stupid it's funny. The director can only direct what he is given. It's not like he's doin this all himself, I mean yeah,he may like what things look like. He says they're cool, but in the end, he's answering to all these people. So this, "NOOOOOO, don't let Bay do TF 2" is misplaced. If it's bad, it aint just Bay that's gotta go. It's also Krutzman, Orici, Speilberg and Hasbro. But we all know Hasbro isn't going anywhere as far as TFs are concerned. Don't single out one if you dislike the whole.

You heard the writers, they tried giving all these characters the personalities closest to their G1 counterparts. The movie isnt even finished, I can see why Bay and Co. wanted to keep all the leaked stuff secret, because its unfinished. I know id rather see the finished product, then work in progress. Typing things in all caps has actually been found to be harder for people to read than when typed out in a normal fashion. It doesn't help that this really doesn't make much sense anyway.

Nope, but now that you mention it...

Actually I was infering to how the fandom overreacts to anything that changes. Beast Modes, Minicons, you name it; someones been screaming about how it will kill the franchise. It just seems to me that more people should have a "wait and see" attitude about things, you know?

I dunno where the hell you guys are getting that stuff about me saying what it takes to be a real fan. Just because i'm proud of my cel collection and was showing it off don't mean crap. No where did I say "This is what it takes to be a REAL fan!!". Anyone that knows anything about cel collecting would probably find my collection impressive.I just happened to focus my TF collecting on animation cels instead of the toys. I find it more fulfilling. To each his own.
And like I said before, if you wanna argue then go for it. Just be able to back it up with some actual thought out replies. The best I got so far is Burn trying to prod me into a personal attack on him(Which I think I fulfilled nicely) but making it look like if I did say something that I started it. And then Lucky the Lama basically diving down into the "At least we're getting a Transformers Movie!" depths. Yeah and at least we got a Catwoman,Daredevil and LXG movies to. I'm sure your life is a lil brighter each day just for those jewels existing in the same reality as you huh?

Oh, don't worry about it, no-one was having a go at you. You're right to be of the opinion that the mvoie will be a success if that's what you genuinely think. We were just clarifying our own stances. It's all pleasant in this meadow, my friend.

That's fair enough, absolutely. Saying we're getting a TF movie isn't in itself a justifiable reason for liking the movie, as far as I can see. (Someone can counteract that point if they wish.)

What I didn't understand about your post was why this movie being bad or a failure is enough for you to almost lose your love of Transformers, when it won't affect the animation cels that you're interested in.

If you're not interested in the comics or toys or whatever, that's fine. I fully support that because, to be frank, I don't know anyone else who's even interested in the cels, let alone collects them, so I find that fascinating because I'm also interested in cels and the animation process in general (and, by extension, your collection).

It's just that I can't see why this film would put you off what you've already invested time and (presumably) money in. If someone said the same thing about their comic collection, or their toys (which people have said in the past), I would ask them the same thing. Why does it change the previous twenty years of history?

The "REAL fan" comment was a stab at the Bay haters (of which you seem to have fallen into the unpleasant company of) who have jumped up and down and declared that anyone who supports this movie is not a fan.

While it certaintly doesn't interest me, you are the first person i've encountered that's dedicated to collecting cels. I know a couple of guys who have 1 or 2 cels but not someone who's made it a collecting agenda of sorts.

And even with those jewels out there there's still plenty of years of history before them that fans can still enjoy. One movie cannot change the past, unless of course that movie stars Michael J Fox or Arnold Schwarzenneger.

So Mr Mace13 , answer me two questions. Answer them honestly.

How is this movie going to destroy your collection of cels and how will it destroy your memories of the 20+ years of Transformers you've enjoyed?

I would really like to know the answer to that as well.

You must really have a weak constitution and a serious lack of will power for a movie to change your past. I guess that is why you are so intollerant of other people's visions and ideas.
