Minicons - How to obtain them
The title explains itself... sort of. XD
I had seen the selection on my HMW characters' profiles that Minicons are possible to have. I just don't know how to get them. Anyone know?

Im not entirly sure what the point of having ther table implemented in this version is concidering it will not be available until v2. All it achives is a million clones of this thread...

I think OS was just plugging in all the independent bits and pieces he could as he finished them, so he wouldn't have to do as much on R-day.

Let me know when they show up. I'd love to get ahold to a repaint of Downshift or Six-Speed, or that cool new muscle car one... Oilslick or something?
(Wondering why "Leader-1" wasn't Dark Saber Runway, or some other aircraft Mini-Con. Of course, then Nightbeat would be Cy-Kill, and Downshift = Crasher...)

I may introduce some minicon funnage in the next week or so to test out some stuff. Keep your eyes peeled.

I was thinking he was just teasing us with these previews. Or maybe its both reasons.

What will the minicons do exactly? I'd imagine different ones would give different bonuses. I'm also interested in how you would go about equipping them once their implimented. In the past it was said that they would be considered an upgrade of some sort that would have to be purchased. Roughly the same questions go for the Masters.

Personally I hated them. Both as toys and as charectors in the "Unicron Trilogy". I think it stems from the fact they weren't Masters. And were basically a ripoff of Pokemon crossed with Masters. And everyone young fan has no idea what a Master is. In summation Masters>Minicons.

Headmasters/Targetmasters will be specific ALT MODES with master TACTICS.
Minicons will be fun little power up that you link to for battles.
I am trying to keep everything as close to canon as possible with the new functionality.
That's all I'll say for now because you are very close to seeing all this in action and I can't do all of this functionality justice in a couple of sentences.

Wow, thanks for clearing that up. I didn't expect you to do it this fast either. Thanks for the head's up OS.

Why you people always gotta be hating on the Minicons? What are they? Micromasters with a gimic, that's all. Sure, some are basically a targetmaster triple changer, and there's one head/targetmaster quadish changer... But are they really all that bad? Everyone remembers the Gen 1 cartoon with such reverence, but what was it? A 24 minute comercial that ran every day.
In all honesty... Targetmasters kinda sucked. They couldn't move, at all. They didn't even really transform. And they had a giant peg in their chest, so they looked impailed.
And everyone says "Oooh... They're like pokemon... gotta collect them all..." and yeah, the series -started- like that. But, has anyone who still says that actually watched the entire series? They made 60 million minicon toys, most of them where repaints (but what TF line doesn't have about half it's line as repaints?) but the anime itself switched focas to searching for specific ones, that made 3 weapons. So... does that mean any anime where characters are searching for something is a pokemon rip off?

I've seen all of the "Unicron Trilogy." And you're neglecting the other glaring thing about the Minicons I hated: they never talked in the cartoons. They only communicated by flailing their arms spasticly and beeping like R2D2 on speed. It was highly annoying. It's hard to get behind rooting for charectors you wish would die. The only time the Minicons came off as remotely cool was in the comic books that Dreamwave published that barely anyone remembers or read. And that's only because they talked and had personalities. The cartoon minicons were basically only drones as far as I saw it. They had minimal to no personality that I could see. But if they give my charectors a power boost in the game I'll probably use them begrudgingly. Or at the least trade them off to Decepticons that want them.

The minicon gimmick ruined a lot of great TF figures.
Plus Micromasters have on thing Mini-cons don't.

That's because Hasbro installed modems in their mouths (that's the noise they made, dialup modem noises) because it was cheaper then paying for more VAs. Why do you think everyone could understand them? Not because they spoke modem. But because that was what was in the script. I think, been a while since I checked, so I could be wrong, but I think the minicons had VAs in Japan.
But uh.. every 5 transformers has they exact same personality in Gen 1. Every decepticon is either a unthinking braggard or power hungry, every headmaster (except Arcee, because she was special... and Hardhead, but he had that name for a reason... something about breaking titanium with his head...) was a genius and every Con target master can't shoot to save his life. Half the autobots in Gen 1 are either retardedly flighty, as in they can't hold their attention on something for more then 3 tenths a second, or uh... dammit! My attention span is no better! Damn you TV! Oh yeah! Or they where narcisistic. Only a couple could actually focas on something for more then 3 seconds and wheren't narcisitic. So, basically, there's about 10 autobots, and then everyone else is just the same 2 guys in different costumes.
So, while you're welcome to your opinion, before you say "I hate this because this" you should make sure that something you love isn't the exact same way. Like I hate the movie designs. They make me want to vomit, like the machine wars/beast machines designs.
Omega Supreme. Everyone loves him. He had no personality. There was a reason for it, but he had no personality.
And actually, I'd argue the opposite in some of the main minicons. They actually had some personality. They would have had more with voices, but sometimes, things can come across without dialog. Like that little dragon/t-rex Gon. Can't speak, nothing in the comic can, but if you try to argue he has no personality... well, I'd have to laugh at you.
The most glaring error with the unicron trilogy, aside from not killing Smokescreen... god I hated him. I cheered when Megatron shot him. But anyway, the biggest error with the Unicron Trilogy is how they used the same 5 character names and didn't explain why they looked different. Why were Prime, Hotshot, Jetfire and the other repeat characters reformated? Yes, they explained Megatron (who went back to Megatron after calling himself Galvatron...) Starscream, Demolisher, Cyclonus, and Tidal Wave... But what about the others who were hold overs from Armada? And what about the rest of the Armada Characters? Where were they? And why take Galaxy Force and rewrite the backstory completely and leave more holes in it then a rampaging dinosaur leaves in Tokyo instead of making it it's own series, like it was supposed to be? And why can't they spell japanese words in english, when they have them translated infront of them? It's not Excellion, it's Exillion. It even says it on the art you get from the cyberplanet key.

Dammit OS, let us donate between factions already so I can pay some Autobots to beat up Dreadwind.

But, I'll apollogize. For some reason, I keep thinking Machine Wars and Beast Machines where the same series. Machine Wars = Ok. Beast Machines = Vile.

Certain aspects of Beast Machines were okay.
Just not the bits that involved the Maximals.

Up to that point, I watched every Transformers episode religiously. Optimus Prime is my lord and savior. He's also the greatest leader ever in any canon. Capt America's a close second, but only because I don't like him as much. But, back to Beast Machines... When that came out and I saw the designs, I stoped watching it. My god slain. the Robot Jesus could not rise in three days, or even a season.
