That is going to screw the scalp hunt, but the mission logs used to get cleared weekly to keep the site running smoothly. I believe it was a tuesday. Obviously, someone realized the logs hadn't been dumped in forever, or that practice was no longer being inniated and I have no clue.

It's probably that I have no clue.

i've been busting my hump to do this scalp hunt too, but there isn't a thing we can do about this, unless you have magical time travel powers.

this sucks for all of us, so quit moanin and try to make the best of a bad situation :grin:

In the end it's about % not total number

(but i would guess with that amount you have a great chance haha). But yes, this sucks, i just now found out going to check my recent ones.

you admit that you even spent the 1 day a year that we're suppost to spend with other people, playing a game. Some times otherpeople are important too.

and for what its worth it's not like i'm not trying to have your score, i just don't have quite the luxury of disowning friends and family.

Honestly, get over it. Your time hasn't been wasted until you get a ruling from Tammuz, and even then, I suspect you've been having fun anyway so it's not entirely wasted.

Chances are he'll still count the results as I have no doubt others have been double checking to ensure their competition are posting valid logs. If they weren't, the issues would have been raised.

Now let's all take a moment to calm down people. This is nothing new for the game and it's not the end of anything. It happens from time to time to help speed the site up a bit.

So relax and go back to killing each other in the game or i'll happily start handing out warnings.

This is very annoying becuase we had a lot of talks with OS about log wipes a few months ago (about the time the events diary was created), which resulted in him promising not to do them during events, and whilst we dont have the event diary anymore, we do have an entire forum dedicated to it, plus plenty of announcments on this forum.

If this is automatic, rather than OS or others conciously wiping the logs, then why is it the first time it has happened since the reset?

And honestly, Im a bit annoyed by this, and I was no where near winning, so I can fully understand GS's annoyance. N_v should lay off him on this one.

I've never seen so many people baaaaw over a game. You should be ashamed of yourselves for how you're acting about it. Here's a question. Did you have fun during the Scalp Hunt? If the answer is yes then you didn't waste your time playing it now did you. Man up and quit acting like spoiled children about it. If the logs are gone they're gone. Until Tammuz gets here and tells us how she wants to handle it there's no sense getting all upset about it either. She worked very hard to set this up and the least we could do is be thankful that there was a tournament at all.

Now if you have a problem with what I said then by all means bring it in the missions. I'll be right in them waiting on anyone that wants a shot at scalping me. Because I think my team's ready to start ripping sparks out.

Welcome to how people felt about Ike taking out the data. You lost a week. Some people lost 4-5 years.

it's not so much that I'll cry over the missionlog that got wiped (didn't check my last six) it's about the guy that pushed the button who's now going to get molested by Tammuz that we should all worry about.

It sucks, but it happens.. a lot of work by the players has been lost and a lot of time by tam.

Didn't the original tournaments run pretty smoothly? The ones pre-DT.

True, but pre-DT there we're far fewer tourneys so the chances of a log-wipe coinciding with one was miniscule.

Over the last few years, log wipes have become more frequent as the unimportant bits of the site have got bigger (i.e. everything not HMW) and needed the memory or something. So, as we've pretty much had a tourney of some description every 2 months in Darkmount over the last 2 years, clashes have been more noticable.

One thing to note though; OS has said this wont happen in the new game.
The log formatting will be different so the wipes will be far easier to organise.
