Finally got around to opening up bovis and fortis today. Extremly satisfied with the transformations not too complex, but not kiddie either (fansproject take notes) a little bummed by their oversize treatment, but since predaking will be in Cartoon scale next to mania its all good. If warbotron is the same scale as feral rex, I may cave in. Anyways I look foward to the other 3 figures. UT predaking wasnt doing it for me with the crazydevy style add on wings and the lame toy accurate looking beast modes. And TFCs predaking is looking way too hasbroish with tail whip weapons and rhino head on headstrongs chest. MMC is the way to go !!!

The MMC Predacons are not oversized. The 1986 Predacons toys were Mega sized toys. Predaking was the biggest Five members G-1 gestalt toy. In the 1986 Cartoon,Predaking was the biggest combiner.

Well you know me and G1 toy scale arent really the best of friends. Not to mention has/Tak didnt create the predacon G1 molds, they bought the licenses along with the deluxe insecticons, shockwave, etc. So I dont think its fair to say has/tak made the molds big on purpose. Yeah predaking was huge. But when were the individual bots bigger than galvatron or any average size con in the G1 cartoon ? Any pics you can offer ?

A freelancer who worked for a Takara Rival was hired to Sketch the art for the 1986 Predacons toys. HasTak were the ones that turned the art sketches into pysical toys.

Are you sure about that? Could Takara reissue them if they didn't create and own the molds?

I dont know the history so I guess I gotta trust you on that one. I remember when I was a kid I had the ransack deluxe insecticon mold before the hasbro versions existed. It was purple and gold I think from some random japanese company. It broke and parents returned It and bought me a hasbro transformer. Wish I had a pic. I was under the assumption the predacons licenses were bought under similar circumstances. Still waiting for any cartoon pics that portray the predacons individual bots to be as big as the original G1 toys were scaled. I remember them being the same height as cyclonus and scourge. Im too lazy to break out the dvds tonight. indulge me...

Correct on the Dx Insecticons. Off target with the Predacons for sure. We do tend to assume first before typing out our ideas later. Speaking of which, the original prototype Razorclaw had a dufuss looking built in Predaking head.Since I don't own the MMC release, is the not Predaking head a mask/helmet or built in?

I dunno. Leo Dux isnt out yet. Maybe the peaugh review shows the predaking head transformation. He has advance samples of all five figures but I never watched the whole reviews because he usually does his reviews backwards starting from alt mode instead of from robot mode out the box, making them useless as tutorials.
