Meanwhile the speed at which Revelations figures crashed and burned price wise seems to have stopped Smyths from stocking MOTU in general - or it could be Mattel pulling stores orders of Origins to give one american retailer Sun Man exclusivity window...or literally anthing else. Sad days for my toy shopping.
blackeyedprime wrote:Collectors fair today and I ended up buying some figures that oddly had been customised and sold by a friend in the first place.
Skeletor does look a bit noticeable with the armor hacked away to be able to have his arms in a resting position, it's not as noticeable on the others though and some it works really well. I'm still not sure on new adventures twelve episodes in but hey, think it kind of loses the plot by not sticking to one.
I won't feel bad about customising skeletors eyes to be toon accurate tho
Emerje wrote:I liked Revelations, but that's probably because I didn't grow up with the cartoon, just the toys so I don't care the slightest bit about it being a continuation or not, bring on more! The only figures that I've seen on shelves long enough to go on sale are Battle Cat and the deluxe sets, the regular figures sell out in days around here.
Emerje wrote:Wasn't Sun Man a set to special pre-order date rather than timed exclusive? I remember Mattel making a big deal about Sun Man's big roll out at all the major retailers on a specific date. Thankfully BBTS didn't cancel my pre-order.
blackeyedprime wrote:Looking at the prices on new adventures classics Quakke and that's a big nope. Might class my evil mutants as finished with a Slush Head seeing as they never did the full range anyways. Depends how much screen time the female mutant gets.

The pricing for the Classics line on the secondary market is the reason I chose to stick with just the Space Mutants and no one else from NA.
Crita, becomes quite a big deal by the tail end of the show.

It's crap when distribution is badwith Smyths no longer stocking the lines I'm going to be dependant on amazon UK by the looks of things. On the brightside at least teela, Trapjaw (green or Kronis,) and man at arms (eternian palace guard) have other releases and much like transformers most of the figures gets a repaint - even if the reuse might be just as hard or harder to get.
-Kanrabat- wrote:Speaking of bad distribution, I had to import my Origin He-Man and Skeletor from BBTS. Then some months later, my local Toys R Us ONLY had He-Man and Skeletor on the pegs.
Also, the Ram-Man and Clamp-Champ scourge is far from over around here.

Really not a fan of the repaints, they can't replace me not getting the original just like a Nenesis Prime wouldn't work for me if I couldn't get Optimus Prime.
If Mattel needs releases to be unique to oneanother, why not just rerelease the early molds in filmation colours and headsculpts.
