MOTU

Do you collect other toys besides Transformers? Maybe you've got a Masters of the Universe collection you'd like to show off, or maybe you like Thundercats, Voltron, G.I.Joe, Power Rangers, Star Wars, Wrestling, or any of the various comic book toy lines. Please keep the discussions here to non-Transformers toy lines.

That was an amazing deal! Beside, Mantena just have his "ramming bow" as an accessory. A weapon often reused and easy to find.
The paint chipping on his eyes is a common issue unfortunately and finding a vintage Mantena with decent eyes is the hardest part of the hunt.

Regarding old toys and prices, it's still possible to find treasures at a discount at flea markets and thrift stores. All you needs is hunting instincts and a little luck. ;)

I picked a few really good deals over the years. A Head-less Snapdragon. Didn't know who it was at the time. So I just thought it was a jet, that transformed into a horse(?). He was £1.

The only one I look back on and regret not picking up was G1 Scorponok. A couple worn stickers, missing guns and accessories (although I remember he still had his Scorpion legs). He was £5... Sadly didn't have that to spend at the time.

These days, my hunting instincts are online. So much so, friends refer to me as "the bloodhound". Since I have a track record for being able to source most of what people ask for.

Sometimes, the flea market sellers are worst than "eBay dreamers". For example, just last year there was one who tried to sell me a BW Optimus Primal with no accessories for 50$. I laughed in his face.

The funniest one for me is still the eBay seller of HasLab Unicron, charging 20k

Those I call the "collectors show off". My little theory is that instead of just doing like a normal person on a forum, those people prefer to show off their collection on eBay. Then they ask for an absurd price because they don't really want to sell anything.

I kinda paid deluxe price for Mantenna anyways £18 plus £4 shipping when it gets here. It was amazon UK briefly at £7 but I'm one of those that prefers not to cancel preorders (and why I'm paying £10 more for gi joe Nindbender at indemand over hasbro pulse... Though tbf at least indemand uses a proper mail service).

TK maxx had a few origins lop Beastman in at £10 (some ebay scum are asking £50 haha)

Well, turns out grizzlor was some bullshit too.

2 in cart, checkout, sold out.

I'd rather support the made to order thing tomorrow at any rate in hopes that it becomes the standard.

Ordered just the one in the end, people are asking £60+ even when the preoderes opened the next day. I added the WWF retro box set so it offsets the $15 shipping a bit.

I don't think Grizzlor will be wandering close enough to a slime pit for me to have to worry about having two of him.

Smyths is stocking Motu Origins again which is great news for me at least. They probably shouldnt have been in a hurry to clear out their stock. Listings up for Randor, 200X heman and skeletor, Whiplash and Mantenna.

I'll likely pick up Whiplash a duplicate Randor for a wwe motu Jerry the King custom and the 200X skeletor if I can get the Origins 40th pack.

At first, I didn't at all care for those New Eternia figures. But that's because I had not realized these were new MOTU Classics figures in disguise, literally. Skeletor, He-man and Beast Man make for some awesome updates to the classic designs. It's basically 2 figures for the price of one and for those unaware here are pics showing how they could look with what you are given in the box:

Not liking the standard head for that Barbarian He-man but it would never be displayed in regular guise anyways. Masterverse Cattra has been available for next day delivery on amazon uk but price keeps changing between £23 and £35 and I'm waiting for it to be the lower again :(

Email from Mattel to say theyve shipped out the way overpriced MOTU 40th set but a few things about it give me no regrets in buying.
It's kinda dented people wanting to scalp it and actually made it available. If Mattel see scum of the universe jacking thier products at 3x the price it's only the scalpers to blame when mattel thinks they will charge that instead.
The box does look great and to me the MOTU retail packaging has been one of the best and should even be standards setting where as this packaging even has me favoring over some big priced items like star saber. I was more excited to receive Coldar than I have been a lot of other stuff recently so this will be the same for me (unless it has factory qc issues etc etc o.O).

Sphincter say what.

What?

Upon revisiting Mattel creations, they look to be doing a hasbro pulse uk thing. Prices are now in £ and shipping options are £9/£17 taxes included. Whilst it looks like good news, retail origins are priced at £24 (currently £18 if in stores) deluxe origins and standard masterverse at £31. That's some serious price increases. The 40th anniversary set is £210 which is some serious owch compared to the already owch $150.

Not sure if it will even make ordering easier but will no doubt find out with the reissue of Wun-dar and what hopes or not it brings for cobra Khan.

Weird. I've never seen the CG series Talon Fighter in store before, can't even find them on Amazon, but suddenly one of my local Walmarts had three of them on clearance for $21. They definitely weren't on the shelves before now. Really makes me wonder if there's a bunch of stuff that Mattel is dumping on Walmart to get rid of. Both of my local stores got a ton of those Chaos Snake Attack playsets in out of nowhere $9 and the Ram Ma'am figure wave for $7 (though this store hasn't clearanced those and just stacked a few dozen of them on the top shelf. The Talon Fighter doesn't seem to be selling for much more than retail on eBay, but might be worth grabbing to squirrel away for the future.

I passed on Wundar (again), with out a wundar/kingsmill/hovis/warburtons Skeletor for him to pair up with I dont think I need or want one.

Origins Mekanek with roadripper. Sadly no extending neck as it is a swappable head so the retroplay label is a lie again but still looks great and a definite purchase for me.

https://toynewsi.com/news.php?itemid=44 ... m=facebook

***

also snake armor skeletor 200X, which should be an easy retool for the snake arms skeletor**anothrt edit, not quite sure what is making this a deluxe figure unless it comes with the green armor/head too

https://toynewsi.com/13

and masterverse Manefaces (looks great) and Roboto which looks good but might be revelations based -eeeewwwww.

I didn't realise, my original NA Skeletor - Disks of Doom - carried such value, even unboxed. In comparison to the default NA Skeletor design.

$150 - Transformerland

Hopefully, Masterverse will pick up the slack and give this design the update (and Havoc Staff) it deserves.

Yeah, I know, it's too bad he's revelations based. Looks good though for what he is.

He's next to a shadow weaver toy in the reveal, anybody know what that toy is?

And other question, that snake armor Skeletor, is it a deluxe figure?
