Movie Voyager Blackout Question

Hello,

Just letting you know I'm still a noob here on the forums. Now for my question :

I acquired a 2007 movie lot recently from ebay. One of the figures I got was Voyager Blackout. I noticed stains a long the mold like black smoke but it hasn't been burned, and doesn't smell like smoke as far as I can tell and I tried removing the stains but it won't come off, it seems to be part of the plastic itself. Its mainly on the fuselage and mini wings. See pics below

I looked at some pictures from the siebertron gallery and I noticed the same type of stains there too.

Is this inherent to all the 2007 movie voyager blackouts? Battle damage staining? Should I be beating myself about this? (Which I have been doing for the past few weeks). If it is not, is there any way to remove this stuff?

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

They come that way. It's intentional, supposed to be a "weathered" look. If you want to remove it, you could probably do so with rubbing alcohol.

It's indeed intentional. It's called a "paint wash" and is a common used technique to bring out details that would otherwise be obscured by the brightness of the plastic, or as mentioned, to give a figure a worn look.

If want to remove it though, do not use anything containing acetone. Acetone eats plastic.
