Whats the point in spending so much money on something and then not using it? Thats like buying a PS3 and never opening the box.
I will never understand you MISB collectors.
A toy not played with is a toy not loved. Only Admired.
Hmm, I am not normally anti MISB as I have a good numkber of those myself. However, in the cases of mine, you can se the oty inside.
I never understood the point of keeping any of the MPs MISB when you can't even see whats inside.
You can get the same effect by just buying an empty box, and saving a cpl of hundered bucks.
I do not mean to sound critical. I am quite curious as to how you resolve the issue of not being able to see the item with wanting to keep it MISB in your head.
Thats sorta what I was thinking. I always open the box. But if the box can be displayed (a bubble on card) then I keep it to put the fig back in and just hang it on the wall to save some space. Though with TF I toss out all the boxes. They take up too much space. Only SW and GI joe get to chill on the wall.

I like opening my masterpieces, 20th OP and alternators/BTs because I can pose them and they are real feats of engineering. The only things i keep MISB are the G1 reissues because I don't play with toys anymore and thats essentially what the 80's figures are. not much poseability etc. I collect the reissues for nostalgia's sake.

Different yolks for different folks. I am an avid MISB collector. For the ones I want to display I simply buy a double of it. Problem solved.
BWOP: "Die-cast construction...It's a lost art!"
Longs for the days of G1 where we only had to worry about Megatron, Soundwave and Laserbeak wanting to be Autobots, Swoop calling himself Tracks and Slingshot calling himself Slingslot!

So are we looking at a recall? Or a reissue pending rectification?

Call me stupid but the completionist in me still want's to buy this toy for my Megatron shelf.
Any post purchase advice? Do I coat the mentioned parts with some kind of paint, clear coat or wd40/similar barrier method?
Or is it just a matter of simple non-chemical polishing now and then?
He's got some pretty far-out powers to go along with them, too, including teleportation, the projection of trippy telepathic visions and illusions, and the ability to groove on the language of 98% of all known species. To uses his powers to the fullest, though, he's gotta be feelin' good vibrations; bad karma can seriously harsh his mellow, y'know?

I finally checked my Megs, and his feet don't seem to have rust, persay, but they are looking a bit tarnished. I picked mine up at BotCon, so it hasn't really been that long.

begun and in certain light I see some rustlike brown ****
on the side and back of Meg's feet again. Toes are still
shiny and fine!
Have been careful not to touch his feet all this time...
Haveta check again on daylight...
Time for more soft polishing and CRC I suppose! =/
Keep an eye on yers!

ive kept my megs in the box so i dont know hows he's doing

.... but are you guys sure that he's rusting, and not tarnishing? tarnishing is more common when you touch metal because of the oils in your hand. just a thought.... i dont have a solution either.

Ok I think i'm gonna change the title of the thread to megs' tarnishing problem before CP bursts an artery
I think it is a Tarnish problem as the brown areas on mine havn't gotten darker. (yeah I know i'm lazy, I'll get down to polishing it later.)

You know, I hate to be
that guy but what school system teaches people to write and type with no punctuation? Your post looks absolutely ridiculous. If you are going to exhume a thread that dies four years ago, the least you could do is use a frickin period at the end of your sentence.
