Gotta disagree there. Breat bot mode, but its alt mode is a lot closer to Classics deluxe Prime than MP Prime's. THS-02 is entirely overrated. He's a fantastic GI Joe of an Optimus Prime...but a mediocre Transformer thanks to a fiddly transform and a s**t alt mode.

Now that I have said that, let me voice my complaints:

I don't understand the price. Why $250? Is this figure not less then MP-01? How much does MP-10 weigh? MP-01 was a heft 2lbs. How much die-cast does MP-10 have on him?

Do we really need to have another MP Prime? the MP line is clogged with them. TakTomy, you could have given us a Power Master or a Star Saber. I would have been happy to pay $250 for either.

The MP line is going down hill in my oppinion. It has been for a while. With the inclusion of Bayformers (no disrespect to anyone that enjoys them, they are good for what they are) and now this, it leads me to believe that TakTomy doesn't truly know what the fans want.

Honestly, if TakTomy really wanted to do another MP Prime, why not MP Optimus Primal?

Considering how MP9 barely has any die cast metal other than the feet, I doubt MP10 has much. Personally, I think TTomy cuts dramatically on die cast metal since the first MP-1 mold, excluding repaint MP2,MP4.

I'm debating whether to purchase MP10 or just wait for a white repaint of Magnus. My only reason to get MP10 because I don't have MP4 and it's also in scale w/ MP Rodimus and Grimlock.

"Official" "in-scale" MP Prime with a trailer that supposedly fixes the problems that MP-01/MP-04 had. What's not to love? I want it but I'd also like to see some high res pictures.

Wow, I never own or knew the THS alt.mode was that suck until these comparing pics with MP1. I even encountered some posters said the THS was better than MP1. With these pictures, now I see clearly which version is better, LOL.

THS was designed by someone who is NOT a TF Guy. It's not that bad once you get past the fact that the hand covers always come off when changing him into robot mode.

God it's uglier than I remembered.
But I still love my THS more than my MP1, the bod-mode, accessories and functions are just way better. If only he was larger, then there would have been more stuff to work with to make his alt-mode better.

The MP line has been going downhill ever since MP2's release, the only good MPs are Prime, Megatron and Grimlock, Rodimus would also bee on this list if that toy wasn't as horribly flawed as it currently is.

The Movieverse MP figures are just that, a separate line for Movie figures, and MPM01 Starscream is a better Masterpiece than MP3 Starscream, much more faithful to the character it's supposed to represent.

Takara knows exactly what the fans want, that's why they use more paint than Hasbro.

And Optimus Primal is not Optimus Prime, therefore he would not count as a "Prime" toy, he's not even the same rank as Optimus Prime.

I admire you for sticking to your guns about liking THS better but strongly disagree about it being better than MP Prime which is probably the best Transformer ever made. That's not to say that MP1 is perfect but no Transformers are.

As the flagship character, the Transformers icon (anyone in doubt check out the Obamamania video) hell yes, he certainly deserves another Masterpiece if they are rebooting the line.
But not now. Releasing a new Prime after Sleep mode, Nemesis and the recent reissue is total overkill. They should have waited at least a year before getting this guy out. Ditto Rodimus' second version.

The thought of having boring Nemesis, Sleep mode and another white "Ultra Magnus" released in succession again instead of the likes of Masterpiece Galvatron, Soundwave, Shockwave etc totally sucks.

Except the part about Ultra Magnus...if it actually came with trailer/armor, that's as desirable as any MP they would realistically consider!

The reason why I like it better than MP1 is due to the awesome robot-mode and it's accessories, check this **** out:

And he's even more bad-ass and fun when you've got him in hand. He's also armed to the teeth, the gas tanks on his legs have a second mini-gun mode and his smoke-stacks also double as blasters of some sort. It's insane, especially concidering how freaking tiny it is.
Also that grill is the same in both bot and alt-mode!

A fully armoured Ultra Magnus is one of my MP dream figures too!
I just don't want another boring white Optimus repaint with no armour which they then call 'Ultra Magnus' in which case it would be a big disappointment like the first Magnus MP and Classics figures were.

True...I just noticed the quotes around Ultra Magnus and understand their meaning now. A non-Ultra Magnus might be even lamer than MP-02, even if the new mold is worlds better than the other.

All these comments about Ultra Magnus armor made me so excited. I hope it's true one day, I have been wishing since MP2...

To change the subject a little bit, I remembered somebody here said TTomy going to give up a Magnus repaint. I think it's almost a year now, no sign of another Magnus. Originally, we thought it was going to be a repaint of that new laser Prime mold. So what happens?

I'm just not overly crazed about it...

Need to see it in armor or black before i bite that bullet.

$275 is a joke.
While the detail in this thing is nice and the new features are cool, due to the size and how lame the trailer looks (practically just a great painted box), realistically this is hardly worth $120.
There's absolutely nothing special about this figure and it doesn't offer much from the already almost perfect Masterpiece Prime.

Not to mention because of the size and more accurate robot mode, the figure itself is probably going to be less durable (probably just like Rodimus).. I'd rather have a giant Optimus Prime Masterpiece that is practically indestructible than a little one that's the equivalent of Rodimus ........

Fixed. The "Trukk not munky" in you is strong. If you would open your eyes, you'd realize that Beast Wars has some of the best Transformers toys ever made. Way better than the original G1 figures which were total bricks.

That's not much of a feat seeing as Beast Wars had 10 years of toy technology in hand against G1, including ball joints. I can name a boatload of fantastic G1 figures, and in essence, BW only has 4 decent figures, Lio Convoy, Optimal Optimus, Depthcharge and Tigerhawk.

On topic, Masterpieces was kick started by Takara because in Japan, collector's run the scene. In Hasbro territories, collector's don't matter all that much. And it's not that bad, I'm pretty sure MP-10 will show up as neutered TRU exclusive a few years down the road.

Pfffffffffft. TM Optimus Primal, TM2 Spittor, TM Tarantulas, B'Boom, Scavenger (the drills don't ruin it for me). Beast Wars is da bomb. It should also be noted that those toys are durable as hell. Only one of my BW toys broke, and it's such a minor flaw on the toy.
