MTV continues their streak of Transformer related interviews. This time MTV Movies Blog spoke to Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner regarding Transformers DOTM, Michael Bay, and the future of the film franchise. To view the original interview at MTV Movies Blog click here.

"I would say to you right now that I've so enjoyed working with Michael Bay," he answered. "Michael has got this incredible visual sense for showing you things you've never seen before. Perhaps he'll change his mind, perhaps he won't, but I'd rather put out this movie first then cross that bridge at some point."

"If everyone had understood why each Transformer was in the movie, people wouldn't have cared how many there were," he said. "But once they're just these robots without any real meaning of why they're there, it just became robot melee, and that's not as enjoyable as knowing something about each robot and their personality so that when they do fight, there are stakes to it. That's really what was missing. It wasn't that there were so many robots; there were so many robots that you didn't know."

That's good to know that they acknowledge the main flaw in ROTF, and are working there way to corecting it with DOTM. If this means an in-depth story behind Shockwave, I'm set for full throttle and only makes me want to see this movie even more.

The ark should be on the first film.Im guessing they would show a clip that optimus and the rest wer already been to earth during the 50's or the 80's and they have there G1 looks. well its just a wild guess i could be wrong. =)

Well concideringthe autobots were educated to speak english from the internet. It will be highly unlikely

Thats true . but im still guessing that since they are in the 80's they still have no plans in meeting sam, and there mission was only to look for the allspark by stealth in there g1 vehicle mode.. but as i said its just a wild guess .

I have a theory,

Bay said that this will be his LAST Transformers film he makes.

But what about Speilberg? Notice the partnership between the two of them in DOTM, and that they are saying that it will have a richer storyline.

the next movie should be a full fledged reboot & be done by speilberg and cameron, people who know what they're doing, have had many hit movies, and dont do **** just cause it looks good but because it actually works. they do it with the shows every year or so and they can do it with the films too until they find one that works. Wait a couple of years then make a new film series not based off any other one but takes aspects from the other ones so its not totally alien to the viewers and fans. Yeah its nice that they acknowledge some flaws in the movies and they say that they fixed them but they didnt acknowledge all of them and this is still bay we're talking about, after the shitshow that was ROTF i have no hope for this movie or any other movie he touches. And hasbro doesnt care since they're making a ton of money off these crappy movies so unless DOTM flops (and it wont cause of all the mindless drones out there) i think we're collectively screwed.

This is not bashing, it's a look at the situation, starting from worst interpretations specifically to eliminate and move upwards to better:

Spielberg was the one who 'suggested' that Bay start the Movie storyline off with a 5-versus-6 deal (and Bay backed down), which contributed to a whole lot of the problems the fanbase sees which are linked to the 'where did they come from? was the main problem' thing this executive discusses in the interview above.

Don't celebrate just because it's Spielberg.Even Lucas, after 30 years of fans clamoring and going as far as knocking on his door and offering to make financial contributions to the SW prequels (I'm told he'd just slam the door on them) made the assumption the replacement for Chewbacca would be a winner, aimed it at the veery youngest new fans, and stumbled in all his invincibility of the moment with Jar Jar.
Anybody can direct a Transformers script. The idea is that it should be a movie about Transformers, rather than someone elses decision to use his formula.(Armageddon is not a movie about Armageddon, and Transformers isn't about 5 versus 6: Bay is a serious issue of appropriateness for declaring he hates filming red (count the red vehicles in Dotm) and Spielberg is a serious issue of advising for letting Bay get away with that rather than hiring any number of other directors who WOULD film red).Think about it.

Not pretending Spielberg hasn't made fantastic SPIELBERG movies, or that the TF films don't rock- and there is a bonus with him at the TF helm, strictly talking formula now: A pack of Velociraptors, terrorizing Rangers, Scientists and Sightseers, and in turn being terrorized by a T-rex, translates directly to a pack of Seekers terrorizing an Autobot expedition and in turn being terrorized by Megatron. 'Course, Jurassic Park is a novel someone else wrote.

Like I state at the beginning, this isn't bashing, just thoughts about implications. 'Prepare for the worst to thrive in the better', as the saying goes.
