They were right here complaining loudly and clearly. The links JelZe posted before are full of all the naysayers who crucified the very idea of ponies and Transformers interacting together.

Same with anytime a commercial from Hub Network was news'd if it featured ponies or any other "girl show" characters along with Transformers, which happened often since the Hub tended to mix and match its programming casts in its network commercials.

For good or ill, at Least some of us remember. Most of my frustration stems from the fact that many of the reactions I'm seeing are from people who think this is a new concept, a first time event etc...

Maybe there is some truth to the notion that many fandoms collective memories don't exceed 5 years.

It is fascinating to see how much a girls toy brand interacting with a boys toy brand can bring out so much sexism and insecurity in a fandom.

I mean, did anyone complain when the predominately male-led Toy Story films had Barbies in them?

It just makes me feel old. My daughter was 5 when MLP FIM and TF Prime first came out, next week she turns 15! Of course she stopped watching it long ago, but I did get her that first comic back in 2013. My kids are still fun, but there are times I miss when they were younger

Maybe, but IIRC the last two crossovers (Star Trek and Ghostbusters) were pretty well-received, so if this and the Terminator crossover turn out well too.

I'm cautiously optimistic. If they get this right, it could be a lot of fun.

Seems like now would be the perfect time to show this concept. With the news of IDW’s Transformers/MLP crossover, here is the mock up for Twilight Sparkle Prime shown at BotCon 2014.

And here's the "official" reveal of the Twilight Sparkle Prime mock-up (first shown 2014 but I believe it was made in 2012 or 2013). It wasn't made to fit any theme but as a stand-alone.
I'd originally wanted to do Shining Armor because of all the... shining armor. But the "mane" character had a better chance.

I'm not sure how many more shades of purple could have gone into the mock-up lol #botcon #transformers

I love it! They should release it to coincide with the TF/MLP comic. But not as an exclusive.
