Those of you who plan on repainting your Deluxe Brawl....he's enamel safe. All parts of him hold up and dry flawlessly with enamel paint. Have no fear! :lol:

Why, have people been saying you couldn't? I've always used Model Master and Testors enamels and never had a problem.

Naw cause some insinuate enamel will crack or dissolve plastic. I'm reassuring you....its okay on all parts of this figure. :grin:

Don't let Tramp hear you say that. Personally, I think it's just down to which brand of Enamils you use. But this is not the place for such discussion. Glad your Brawl is fine. Care to share any pics of what you've done? Or at the very least tell us?

I gotta say this thread propably belongs here, in the kitbash forum rather than in the toy forum, i know it is about a toy BUT it is specifically about repainting a toy, which is a kitbash thing

Just because it didn't break when you painted it with enamels doesn't mean it won't when someone else does.
In the other threads, where people had TFs that had broken or melted, some others had painted the same figure, with the same paints without problems.
How far are you willing to go with your guarantee? Will you replace peoples' deluxe brawls if they paint him with enamels and he melts or cracks?

you guys crack me up.

here's a news flash for the enamel frightened repainters...

I have repainted almost EVERY movie figure from head to toe in .....ENAMELS..

and they're all perfectly in tact. no 'cracking' or bullshit like that. The only 2 peices in the entire line I've come across that needed PRIMER first, were primes exhaust stacks, and Starscreams nosecone.

for the love of god...model enamels is made for plastics too.

i ended up with an extra brawl, and just so you know, I totally plan on painting it hot pink (perhaps with a different shade of pink or maybe purple contrasting camouflage pattern.) I do this for several reasons: partly because a hot-pink tank is incredibly wrong; partly because, if the character were to be painted in hot pink, he'd probably be pretty angry about it (and I'm sort of angry at the toy, partly for sucking, and partly because I ended up with a second one and no receipt to return it,) and also, and mostly, because its hilarious.

thanks to you, Blackout2007, I now know what kind of paint to use, and so, when the unholy fury of the hot pink squadron is unleashed, the responsibility shall rest squarely on your shoulders.

whenever i get my lazy butt around to doing it (warning: it will probably delayed due to a sudden influx of halo coming on tuesday) there will be pictures. oh yes, awful, horrible pictures... awful because i've never done a repaint before. any advice for a noob?

NO. I'm stating using straight Testor's flat black and regular Testor's thinner mine came out fine. Should be the same for other mini brawls too.

I don't understand people's anomosity with mini brawl. I think he's a sweet figure. Just find a way to fix his arms....hes cool. I may turn this one into a dessert camo unit.
