About half way through is where I'll probably stay. This novel is bad, like really bad. I'm hoping it's just the author and not a sign of things to come.
I've been really bummed ever since Diseney deleted the EU. It's hard to let go of over 20 years of literature that helped me through some darker not so happy times. Still, I nwanted to give the new books a chance.
New Dawn, Tarkin, and Sith Lords were all pretty good. They were no X-Wing series, but still pretty good.
Aftermath was pushed as the best sign of things to come, and I really hope that was just exaggerated media hype. Avoid this boo at all costs.

Finally finished the Ann Leckie Radch trilogy - so so so so so good! The third book, Ancillary Mercy, was probably the funniest too.
Almost done with Anders' All the Bird in the Sky, have a long list to choose from after that, but probably going ahead with Ninefox Gambit or The Principle.

I found it quite surprising that there are more species of birds in urban areas because of all the different kinds of plants humans plant. There may be more birds in number in untouched areas, but cities have more variety of species.
..I did not know any of that. Huh. That'll learn me.

I will learn you about birds any time you like.
Speaking of birds I should fix my sleep again. I'd probably get more articles if I was awake at a more reasonable hour.

Thanks. When I'm not working I'm usually reading. The current book has started out as a slow burn but I'm keeping my hopes up. Tampa detective is investigating a group of murders that includes three men involved with drugs but with them were two middle-aged women. From there some more murders...pretty much where I am right now.
I did read, a couple months ago, a three book series that I found very interesting. Those were set in London with a strong female protagonist. Had a fun time figuring out all of the British slang used. lol

OH! Another really good series is the Shaye Archer series by Jana DeLeon. The first book is Malevolent. It's the only one I've read so far in the four book series, but if the rest are as good as the first it'll be quite a ride.

It's basically just filling in the gaps of how Thomas and Friends created The Maze. If anything, it's a cash cow.

Ah. Hm. Not sure I'll invest in them too much, have plenty good YA to read so far without more cheap YA.

Historical fantasy? I may give one of those a look, but am more and more interested in standalone books rather than series - just for a while at least!
For anyone wanting some short speculative fiction to read today, Tor.com is doing a nice series right here.

Goodness! I think I can maaaaybe do a book a month. Reading tends to put me to sleep, so I usually end up just reading a chapter or two before bed. Heck, I've been doing audiobooks so I can actually make progress.
Anyways, I'm between books. Recently finished Sir Conan Doyle's The Lost World (which was less about dinosaurs than I thought it'd be), gotta find the next read somewhere...
