Poor Barricade now he looks like a giant walking pile of scrap metal just like every one else. I really had high hopes for this guy. Well at least the toys good. Just want to know why the toy has little feet when hes not suppose to. Now after seeing this no one can say that this is not Barricade.

The toy looks different enough, but this model, if official and not just a concept sketch, sure looks like Barricade's older brother or something (or sister depending on who you ask).

You just know this is going to make for one confusing on-screen skirmish when he goes toe-to-toe with Sideswipe. When those two start knocking parts off one another how do they figure out which pieces to pick up when the battles done?

Maybe Bay wanted to confuse the concept people too, so no one would know anything about anything.

I just picked up a Sideways toy today and looking at it, the feet could totally be replaced with something bigger but the toy stands better than I thought if you align it how it should be. I would like feet like this concept though.

His face is the main thing though, looks almost exactly like Barricade's. BUT, if you look at all the Constructicons, they all have a similar face [all looking like Bonecrusher's], so maybe it does have to do with "relation" somehow [if this isn't Barricade].

What so many people tend to forget is that Barricade's survival was stated by Oci to be "a thread for movie 2". We also know that he appears in the new Tales of the Fallen comic, and will apparently square off against Bumblebee yet again. Who's to say he isn't killed in that comic? It was never stated that he appears in the movie. Since Tales of the Fallen is a prequel of sorts, his appearance could still be treated as a thread to movie 2. It just doesn't seem to me that they would change his name to Sideways for no reason. However, I cannot deny that their resemblance is uncanny. So for now, I'm just gonna wait and see.

looks cool, makes the toy look kinda weak, i wonder why they went with the huge RED crotch on the toy? is it so that when the premimum line comes out they can paint it right so that the people who already have the toy will feel like it will be a justified buy, maybe?

Well, I've about had my fill of this "Is he or isn't he Barricade" nonsense so let me put this out there...
If you were a computer animator who had your workload more than quadrupled from what it was the first time around and still had the same shorter timespan as before to do it in, wouldn't you use already created elements to make your job easier??? Is he Barricade? NO! Were elements of Barricade used in this guys creation? They'd be stupid to have not used them since they were already in the system.
You guys can knock yourselves senseless with the speculation up until opening day but if you ask me the answer is pretty obvious and certainly the simplest.

People, Barricade is Prowl and Sideways is Silverstreak. That's all there is to it. In movie 3 we'll probably get a blue and red robot that looks alot like Sideways.

I just can't see this character being the next incarnation of Barricade. All his stats are completely different. This is not going to be Barricade. It will be a different character. That's my opinion and I am sticking to it. :wink:
