"Me Grimlock no bozo! Me KING!" The definitive version of everybody's favorite Dinobot badboy has arrived in the world famous Seibertron.com Galleries! Both Tarkara and Hasbro versions no less. The Dinobots have been fan favorites ever since their introduction in 1985, especially their infamous leader Grimlock. In 2009 Takara treated Dinobot fans with MP-08 Grimlock, which came with an odd assortment of accessories including his waiter outfit from "Madman's Paradise" and his brain transfer device from "Grimlock's New Brain". In 2010 Hasbro followed suite and released Masterpiece Grimlock as a Toys-R-Us exclusive with his own unique accessory, Grimlock's crown. Oddly the Hasbro version actually features more paint applications than the Takara version. Take a look at the full galleries by following the links or clicking on the images below.

This figure is the reason Im holding out for a TRU MP Rodimus. They knocked Takara out the park with Grimlock. Cmon Hasbro do it again, you know you wanna do it !!!

Nice galleries
Definitely happy with the Takara version over Hasbros, the pointy features are worth it to me, and I don't miss the extra paint on the Hasbro version. Although I do wish I had a crown.

You could always go this route.

I passed on the Hasbro version since I already had the Takara version. Kind of regret not getting both, oh well.

Yea, thanks El Duque, but I somehow haven't been able to muster up the need to drop 17 for a crown and mug, haha.
Can you actually store the crown anywhere in dino mode? like fit it on the dino head, or inside the chest?

If you don't mind the crown being ****, then iGear does a good job. It's the least impressive thing in that entire package. Doesn't even sit perfectly straight .... or mine doesn't anyhow.

I just can't decide which one I want! I'm in a situation where I need the accessories to make him my own. All I want is a Grimlock with his bowtie and apron in Dino mode, sitting nicely on my bedside, but in robot mode, to have his crown. Can't they just release a version with both pairs of accessories?!

I LOVE my Hasbro Grimlock!

He is so awesome and I am never affraid of breaking him. Also he just looks sooo perfect. Anyways for those who live on Long Island, TRU (next to the mall) on 110 still has a few left. Was there yesterday and they had ALOT of ROTF shelfwarmers. Also one Blurr. I picked up Recon Ironhide for $12. Sux that he was broken T.T need to return him today.

Not only is the TRU version better in several ways, but it is also cheaper than the Takara version. I have a hard time paying $200, even for a Masterpiece Transformer.

Also he is supposedly coming with his targetmaster tooo

yeah I also have a hard time paying $100-$120 just for "Rodimus prime" alt Mode that in a way is actually just a clip on accessory.

Ok, ok. The Hasbro one is cheaper, but better in several ways? No, not really. The Hasbro one has the shoulder markings which are cool and toy accurate. It also has the rounded teeth, which is a little lame. Both issues are insignificant.

Takara gets you the nice collector's box and extra parts (which are balanced by the Hasbro crown). Hasbro gets you the cost savings. Cost and packaging are the only real factors here. The toys are essentially the same.

I'd take you up on that offer if it weren't for the fact that I have to have a tooth pulled next week, so that'll be taking up major space on my credit card.
