Just so as to cover my own backside, I do hope that it was not misconstrued that my comments about the scale of this toy and the other possible constructicons were any attempt at whining or bitching.
I was simply commenting before about sizes mentioned regarding these toys in previous threads. If they can pull it off then this will be the coolest thing since Fortress Maximus. As with Fort Max, Predaking and some of the larger figures, there were some of us G1 fans that could not afford to purchase these toys when we were kids and unfortunately, due to the economy and job markets, some of us won't be able to purchase the cool, really big stuff now. I was able to purchase Fort Max. only 5 years ago and sadly just had to sell him to a collectors shop along with all of my other lg. TF's and didn't break even. The scale of the lg. toys is great and they have done a good job with all of the Movie figures in keeping them accurate. I'm just lamenting the fact that I won't be able to have a shot at a complete set until yeasrs from now. If they do a scaled down, affordable version it still won't hold the same appeal to me and, in my opinion, demeans the whole character.

Somehow I doubt that this figure has any automorph features! :P

The tread transformation is fantastic, and I hope we see more uses of it in the future.

However other than the treads, the toy itself (and the character design from the trailer) are to me, offputting, and disappointing, the floating head is just something I don't like. Sure it's nice to see non-humanoid based robot modes, but this look does not appeal to me.

Not that it matters, from what I have seen of the movie figures thus far, it's not a line I can see myself getting.

Hasbro are breaking the mould in terms of what they normally do, and i can't wait to see the ramifications in later lines.

What? That's the stupidest idea I've ever heard if true. If they do that I'm not buying any of these. It's as stupid as having to buy two different versions of a triple changer to get both his alt modes.

Looked kickass in the trailer. Toy looks like a frail plastic lump, though they get a few points for being a little different. Who says an ALIEN robot is going to have HUMANOID legs.

Interseting toy, but I don't see how it could combine.

For all we know, it could be the Fallen, giving it's huge size in the trailer. Just because it's a construction thing doesn't mean it's part of Devastator. We don't know Dvastator is made of consruction vehicles, do we? Or that his name is Devastator? We only know there's gonna be combiner toys.

I was a Navy brat and had to deal with being The New Guy every two years so I know how this guy feels. Some folks don't like the new guy because they know he's gonna knock them down a peg. Especially if he's a big badass. Not to mention that everyone but that posted except maybe broke-ass  t-max is gonna buy this thing as soon as it hits the shelves.

This actually makes me feel better. Its a perfect match for the monster at the end of the teaser. That means that hopefully devastator will have legs.

It actually looks pretty cool the longer I look at it. Its very basic, but then the original components for G1 devastator were too. The mode with a single track looks pretty menacing, and while I wish it was more humanoid, I think its a decent design.

Unless the final look for Devastator sucks. In which case I retract all of the above.

Considering the idea of deliberate misleading and confusing the fans that Bay hinted at early on in production, my suspicions and possible take on the title and the idea of devastator are in its essence a PUN or simply a easily confusing or misleading form of terminology to lead fans to speculating many different things. But one possible angle that I don't think I recall anyone on here having mentioned thus far is the idea of devestator possibly being made up of the sparks of bonecrusher, brawl (devastator in first), and possibly blackout or maybe even megatron. I know it's probably not quite right on, but just something to think about, cuz if I do remember right I remember really early on that there were rumors and discussion, by the writers I believe, about ressurected characters in different forms...could this be what they meant. Maybe , in this movie the 'revenge of the fallen' is just simply that, the revenge of all that fell in the first, along with a few other new ones of course, but while still introducing the character of the actual 'Fallen' but not actually playing as prominant of a role in this particular movie. Also , just another tidbit of info, based on the sheer size of that one single so called constructicon in the trailer, maybe thats just the head, shoulders, and arms of the combined form and maybe devastater won't actually be made up of seven ,as rumored , but maybe just three or so bots, to make the size a little more reasonable. Like...maybe thats the new bonecrusher since he rolls on wheels like in the first, nad maybe the chest would be brawl as the longhawl character, a bulky mass for the main body, ans so on... what do you all think?

Hmmm... forget BM Thrust for a moment, and think movie-verse.

Don't those "claw" hands make you think of Scorponok when he's laying down on the tank treads? Maybe that's just me...

I like it. Especially the 5th picture, I think it shows its real proportions in robot mode and it looks great.

I was thinking about posibilities and some things shown (and not shown) in the trailer... first, it might not be a good indication that Prime jumps on him. I think that Prime takes him down, and he could be the only constructicon in the movie, no Devastator or huge combiner (or at least he is not part of him.) He looks deranged in some way, kinda like the Nokia phone did, or the soda machine bot, or the Escalade. Is he an aftermath to the allspark exploding? No way, he is in China. Is he some sort of deranged experiment by sector 7 and they asked the Autobots to take him down? Coulde be...

Also, if the constructicons are a group, wouldn't there be more of these huge bots together? Maybe another one of them could've been in the background while this huge guy was taking down the choppers... so I'm saying that we should've seen more constructicons in the trailer -or at least in the background, right? It makes no sense for them to be separated. They are too big to be roaming around, or looking for each other. One of these huge shovels is not cruising around a city, or cross country. His alt mode demands to stay in a specific zone, and again, if he was a constructicon, where's the rest of them? If he is confined to a zone, what is he guarding? Or what is he trying to get that he needed to transform in a power shovel to stay unnoticed?

But now, let's see something that supports Devastator. From his looks, combination is possible since he seems kinda crippled, and this is designed on purpose, not just some sort of fancy new transformer. Again, could be because he is a sector 7 freak experiment, or the following: combination is not some sort of upgrade or fancy cybertronian gimmick, but a necessity. Maybe damaged bots developed ways to regain certain physical or combat operability by combining themselves with other damaged robots, since there is no other means to be healed or repaired... so that's why they looked incomplete, like our power shovel guy, or the robots chasing the Audi decepticon, and that's why combination might be a strong issue in this movie.

Anyways, this is all fun for us. Let's enjoy it while it lasts! Cheers!

Maybe we can finally put this to rest.

Mike (posting at Peaugh's channel) has the toy, and suspects this is the arm of Devastator (about 10:50 mins in).

Cool, I was right about the mech alive feature B-)

Definitely has a BM feel to him, but all the movie toy have that feel to me. Still not sure about that bot mode though, if he had a bit more of a midsection he'd look great, just not digging the floating head look. It does look like the part his head is on rotates though, so it looks like it's possible to give him a midsection.

Gonna get him, though. Gotta have all of Devastator.

Do you have any idea of just how much ass you really kick?? You Rock, Your logic Rocks, and I don't care what anybody says about this figure, I'm getting one regardless of price just so I can give my Legends Class Prime something to hang off of because your idea, compared to everything else I've read or posted myself in this thread, kicks that much ass.
