while not really "news" (cause you probably already have them) but BBTS did finally get their restock of the 1/48 vf-1j max/miria
I personally am not so much into the 1/48's...but I have the couple in 1/60 and 1/100.

Well I have one episode left to watch of the original Macross series. One thing I can tell ya now is I definitely need to get the Protoculture set so I can catch up on Robotech. Also this show would've never flown in the US because the vast majority of air time doesn't feature action and thus, not push product.

I'm only on the 4th disc of Macross.

After this I am starting Starblazers: Season 1

Then, maybe I'll go back and watch the Robotech: New Beginning or whatever. Don't have Shadow Chronicles yet. :-?

know the feeling Chuck ol' buddy...VT-1 Ostrich is the only macross item though...I`m waiting for the loose Roy Ghostbooster set as I simply don`t want two of the same colorscheme valkyries in my cabinet.and while I lurked at MW(I can lurk again but I can`t register.none of my emails, even my provider email wll be accepted)I saw that first quarter 2008 we get the YF-21 in 1/60 scale!now I`m guessing the next new mold after that will be the VF-11...diecast hipbars on that one please Yamato...I still weep for my broken 1/72 VF-11's...

Mine have always come tighter than a German virgin, goodentight. Joking aside all the 1/48's I've bought have had taped boxes, unless they were used.

Definetely.

Hey I just wanted to give a update.... Yesterday I recieved my Yamato 1/48th Super VF-1J Max type. I also recieved the Revoltech Hikaru Super VF-1J.

The Revoltech figure is just amazing with it's crazy articulation. I can finally get some wild tv poses out of a Battroid. Very cool, I hope they do a Miria Super VF-1J.

I am also in the process of adding the Stickers to the Max 1J.

Hey ignore everything I said. I have no idea why I said the boxes were taped they never were. They have these tabs that keep the box shut. Tape would damage the box and they wanted to prevent that.

that`s funny Chuck cause I picked up my 1/60 VT-1 Super Ostrich up last night and that WAS taped up tighter then a virgin....not that my trusty X-Acto blade couldn`t deal with that neatly and without marring the box.... currently stickering my VT-1 and then it`s photoshoot time! :D

I should have been more clear the 1/48 scale sized figure boxes aren't taped the smaller "Toy" 1/60 scale ones are.

finally finished stickering my VT-1...Yamato sure didn`t make it easy by completely changing the stickerguide from the normal releases yet including the printed image of a standard VF-1 and it`s markings...I`ll take photo`s tomorrow but as an aside question, is anyone getting the Shadow Chronicles collector's edition?I am as I`m quite interested in the Robotech 3000 foorage they are including.

This is the first I'm hearing of it and I'm a tad pissed that they're putting this out when the first edition isn't even a year old. By the by I finished the original Macross series so I'll give ya my two cents on it:

Thank God for Robotech.

If this series was just dubbed as is it would've tanked in the ratings. On the whole there is very little action which wouldn't fly in the US "Toy Show" universe. At first the music was OK but by the end I wanted to strangle Mari Ijimma. Perhaps if they translated the songs I would've liked them more; as it is now the only thing I can stand listening to is the main theme. The show should have ended with the great battle and thus dragged towards the end. In fact there really wasn't an end; at least not one that I recognized. On the plus side the animation is top notch and not like the fluff that is traditional Anime today. The voice acting was solid and the action scenes, however brief they are, are phenomenal. The extras on each disc were really interesting and it was nice to put a face to the voice ya know? I do hope they release DYRL and Flashback 2015 as was hinted by one of the Anime experts since he said they'll tie up loose ends.

yes well, DYRL is sort of situated as a movie of Spacewar I set inside that world and 2012 is a clipshow really with only a few new scenes. it doesn`t actually wrap things up really...in fact, if you hate Minmay`s singing, steer clear of 2012 as that is all you hear.
