The Henkei one has been rereleased. It's sitting in my POL now. It's identical to the original release.

Oh, I didn't realize it was out. I stand corrected.

I'm so going to get flamed for this...

The higher yen price on Unicron against the other deluxes seems weird. Since all we've got is a placeholder image is there any chance that the Cybertron Unicron won't be the figure used? At that price point my totally fanboyish guess would have been the '98 Neo prototype finally getting moulds tooled up. While I know that TT releases get individually priced rather than having set price points and that realistically we'll never see Neo Unicron released it does seem like they're asking a lot if it is the Cybertron mould.

Glad it wasn't just me thinking that the price seemed off for that one, although the Kapow pre-orders have him priced the sane as the regular deluxes....

Maybe I'm stubborn, but I still refuse to believe that mold degradation ever stops them from releasing toys. If they're still releasing G1 toys and classics seekers, I think they can do whatever they want.

So anyway... Axalon and Unicron are pretty confusing to me, but I'm interested. I don't have either mold yet.

Yes and no. The Energon Sharkticon figure was repackaged in Universe 2003 packaging and sold at discount stores. I think he can still be found at some places like Big Lots.

I see no difference in warparth, but for thunderwing i think the colours are all lighter, and the green on his limbs are now black. Anyone notices any other differences? If not thunderwing's gonna be the united shelf-warmer.

If these are mock-ups then wouldn't that mean these aren't neccessarily the finished products?

Only the ones with red Japanese words are mock-ups. The rest are final products. See the pattern? warparth, hero megs, thunderwing, and windcharger/wipeout all do not have Japanese words, and they already looked re-painted (except warparth at least). While the rest are just shots of the original hasbro issues ;)

Sadly ive either got or have no interest in these moulds, theres only the windcharger pack but i already have 2 windchargers i would be paying something stupid for 1 scout(i suppose i can sell one to help).

If japan havnt had some of these moulds yet then am sure its a bit of a =P~ wave but for me to see that unicron(had him sold him), sharkticon, megatron(i do like the colours)and beastwars mixed with Gen/rts while a very interesting mix to see in the same line/wave i would be very dissapointed had they been in the next line/wave out over here i thought those figures were forgotten well for me anyway i dont think there very good.

Saying that about the mix i wouldnt mind a couple of new updated beast wars characters at some point(not megs or ops either I-)i dont need any more) but i would hate it if they ever tried to pass that unicron and sharkticon off as new characters in the recent churg lines .

The problem with that is that the BWNeo Unicron wasn't Voyager sized, but Super (Leader) sized. It'd be much higher a price if that were the case.

I'm hazarding a guess here, but if the higher price is accurate, that could mean there's something included with the C-Unicron repaint. And I hope by Primus it's not that head I'm wanting, because I already have C-Unicron...

And by the by, clear plastic does not equal retool.

Yeah, I'm suspecting some kind of bonus to come with Ark Unicron.

Though, in regards to BWNeo Unicron, if what Hasbro said about the prototypes of Animated Hot Shot and Marauder Megatron applies for all prototypes, then the likelihood of BWNeo Unicron ever being released seems slim to none. :-|
Hasbro wrote:Unfortunately, as much as we would like to be able to bring these toys to market, the reality is that these prototypes will simply never be mass produced. They are essentially unfinished ideas, notions that will never be completed. We share these exclusive images here as a glimpse of what might have been.

I wonder what the odds are of Wipeout being release here (US) in whatever they call the next Classics/Generations line... Otherwise Windcharger needs as pretty a paint job as United Tracks to make that a worthwhile set.

Actually, there are mutliple versions of molds of early G1 toys, spread all over the world, not to mention the younger G2 retools, so finding a viable one is relatively easy. Also, TakaraTomy knows there's money in Reissues, so they invest in actually restoring mold sets. G1 Jazz for Stepper/Ricochet is a wonderful example, so is BW Cheetor's gut gun which had to be recast. The most recent ones have to be Encore Rumble and Frenzy.

The Classic Seekers are... an odd bunch, since they're made from two separate versions of the main mold. The first version was retooled for Universe 2.0 Starscream onwards, which resulted in problems for the Gentei Seekers. From Generations Thrust on, including Ghost Starscream, Hasbro used the more viable first version again.

wonder why we have so many deluxe molds at the voyager price point.

overall, I dont see old cybertron molds coming into the united line as a good thing.

suddenly the united line will have cyberkeys? pass on those for me unless the BW molds are radically differnt from their cybertron releases.

IF Takara is going to put figures from other lines in their United line I'd like to see some Titanium figures get re-released in plastic rather than diecast.

I'd like to see Cheetor, and maybe even Fire Convoy since I never got those.

Titanium were pretty basic (in terms of detail and transformation) and blocky, so as to make it ... well titanium... I have a feeling titanium molds would look horrendous in plastic. Kinda would feel like a KO IMHO;)

Hasbro/Takara already did that with G1 Springer among others. A good candidate would be WWI Optimus Prime. Leave the hip connection die-cast and have the rest either glossy plastic or metallized like they did with Soundwave. The trouble with the Optimus titanium, it was virtually raining paint chips once you transform him.

They were basic, but no more than a standard deluxe. Transformation was simple to accommodate the diecast, but heck the Seekers had almost the same transformation as the Voyager cybertron molds.

Takara could perhaps include some weapons or something to make up for the price I guess.

Titanium molds would be kind of out of the question for a regular release in all plastic. The reason is that the molds for the die cast parts (which are not Titanium, I assure you: it's an alloy containing Zinc, Aluminum, Magnesium and Copper) are made with a different material than the ones for the plastic parts and can't be used for plastic parts. That's the reason why BT Mirage was all plastic, as there were no molds for the metal parts.

As I tried to suggest before (and apparently nobody got the hint), Ark Unicron, as the name implies is likely to come with Titanium Autobot Ark, and the BW figure could come with their respective ships, the Axalon and the Darksyde, like their 10th Anniversary versions.
