The Henkei one has been rereleased. It's sitting in my POL now. It's identical to the original release.

Rumor has it that the Voyager Prime mold was used one too many times. I believe Shattered Glass Prime was showing signs of degradation.

I see no difference in warparth, but for thunderwing i think the colours are all lighter, and the green on his limbs are now black. Anyone notices any other differences? If not thunderwing's gonna be the united shelf-warmer.
If these are mock-ups then wouldn't that mean these aren't neccessarily the finished products?
The problem with that is that the BWNeo Unicron wasn't Voyager sized, but Super (Leader) sized. It'd be much higher a price if that were the case.waaaaghlord wrote:I'm so going to get flamed for this...
The higher yen price on Unicron against the other deluxes seems weird. Since all we've got is a placeholder image is there any chance that the Cybertron Unicron won't be the figure used? At that price point my totally fanboyish guess would have been the '98 Neo prototype finally getting moulds tooled up. While I know that TT releases get individually priced rather than having set price points and that realistically we'll never see Neo Unicron released it does seem like they're asking a lot if it is the Cybertron mould.

Yeah, I'm suspecting some kind of bonus to come with Ark Unicron.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Sabrblade wrote:The problem with that is that the BWNeo Unicron wasn't Voyager sized, but Super (Leader) sized. I'm hazarding a guess here, but if the higher price is accurate, that could mean there's something included with the C-Unicron repaint. And I hope by Primus it's not that head I'm wanting, because I already have C-Unicron...
Hasbro wrote:Unfortunately, as much as we would like to be able to bring these toys to market, the reality is that these prototypes will simply never be mass produced. They are essentially unfinished ideas, notions that will never be completed. We share these exclusive images here as a glimpse of what might have been.

Maybe I'm stubborn, but I still refuse to believe that mold degradation ever stops them from releasing toys. If they're still releasing G1 toys and classics seekers, I think they can do whatever they want.

Mold degradation happens when the production mold breaks down. With the G1 toys and Classics Seekers they went back to the master mold and made new production ones.

wonder why we have so many deluxe molds at the voyager price point.
overall, I dont see old cybertron molds coming into the united line as a good thing.
suddenly the united line will have cyberkeys? pass on those for me unless the BW molds are radically differnt from their cybertron releases.
Overcracker wrote:IF Takara is going to put figures from other lines in their United line I'd like to see some Titanium figures get re-released in plastic rather than diecast.
I'd like to see Cheetor, and maybe even Fire Convoy since I never got those.
JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:As I tried to suggest before (and apparently nobody got the hint), Ark Unicron, as the name implies is likely to come with Titanium Autobot Ark, and the BW figure could come with their respective ships, the Axalon and the Darksyde, like their 10th Anniversary versions.

Actually, there are mutliple versions of molds of early G1 toys, spread all over the world, not to mention the younger G2 retools, so finding a viable one is relatively easy. Also, TakaraTomy knows there's money in Reissues, so they invest in actually restoring mold sets. G1 Jazz for Stepper/Ricochet is a wonderful example, so is BW Cheetor's gut gun which had to be recast. The most recent ones have to be Encore Rumble and Frenzy.
The Classic Seekers are... an odd bunch, since they're made from two separate versions of the main mold. The first version was retooled for Universe 2.0 Starscream onwards, which resulted in problems for the Gentei Seekers. From Generations Thrust on, including Ghost Starscream, Hasbro used the more viable first version again.
