I didnt like this style with clone wars either.
Hey someone should take all of this threads entries.. good and bad and send them as a petition to whoever is making this crap to stop making this crap and make a proper transformers series instead.

Hey, here's a happy thought! If the toys look like this, a lot of us will have a chance to catch up on our collections, getting the older figures we want. Oh, happy day! =D
Seriously, though... I'm a little shocked they're offering this to the new audience the movie will be bringing in. The only real positive thought I have is, what if Hasbro has dual lines? What if they ran a younger skewing cartoon toy... and also did figures based on the IDW-verse stuff?
Yeah, I know it won't happen. Again, trying to be positive and grasping at straws. ;_;

Gimme back my anime Transformers plz. >_>;
EDIT: And in hindsight I can't help but laugh in the general direction of all those folks who constantly glitched and moaned for a TF series made in a Western country because they couldn't stand the Japanese series'... Well, you guys got what you wanted. Happy now?
i was just going to say this...you thought the anime-like TF series were kiddy, wait until you see this (judging from the type of art).

Good question! His head is freakin' huge!
I'll wait to see some more pics before I pass my final judgement, but this is bad, even for concept art (if that's even what it is). Plus, what the heck is up with the ultra lame "animated" title? Weren't the TF series always animated? Maybe we're just supposed to forget all about them.
What will it take to get a decent TF show on the air again? Let's just hope the writing is excellent. Maybe there is hope yet.
yes...im sure the writting will be excelent...did you even read the scan? quote:
"transformers animated joins the kid-friendly lineup at CN"
I guess to make sure people dont think this might be a adult swim cartoon and actually aimed at teens-adults, instead of toddlers-6 year olds
"...with each of the 26 episodes presented as a standalone storyline featuring everyday heroes who do good deeds that triumph over evil."
sigh

I'd still take this over the crap that was Armada, Energon and Cybertron. Those shows weren't too bad but I couldn't stand the foolishness that they contained. This show may be aimed at kids but at least they are advertising it to be such from the get go and not throwing in stupid crap like the previous shows did.
Either way I'll wait to give my total judgement of it. If the stories are good I can stand some less then perfect animation.
Worse case... I re-watch Beast Wars and save some money not buying the toys for this show.

But in my defense of The CN dont get it twisted this looks like SHIZNIT.
most of what you said is from the adult swim part of CN, this is clearly...not going to be
and anime like bebop or samurai shampoo werent MADE for CN now were they

I give up... American animation is truly dead. We ruled the world once back in the 80s with cool shows... but never again. I'm not one giving to swearing, anyone who knows me on these boards knows this, but my god those cheap ass mother truckers need to have what is left of their genetalia removed with a slow moving rusty razor blade for this design.

DING DING DING DING DING! You have officially gone TOO FAR. Time to turn off the PC and go for a walk. Seriously.
EDIT: Black Bumblebee, that goes double for you.
I remember seeing statues and figurines of Batman Animated and Justice League characters. I thought they looked like hell and the proportions were all over the place. And yet, on screen, they looked great- full of character and, most importantly, easy to animate in exciting and frenetic action sequences. Whether TF:A will be of the same calibre as Justice League is up in the air, but we'll find out in a few months, won't we?
