seems like a lot of negativism has been expressed to what is something that i see as a positive trend.
toys must change in order to capture new kids interests, and we are only along for the ride.
If they ever start making serious figures under something like a DC Direct version of transformers I could see complaining more about toys made for adults that were marketed incorrectly.
But I really think adults that also like what are designed for kids/young adults need to be as flexible as possible to really exist for a long time in this hobby.
I mean the Bumblebee suit appears to have a "howitzer type gun platform" for a base mode for bee to fire away from.
Really this isnt far from ideas that put out Erector and other microbot bases.
I see a lot of complaints are maybe just not liking power suits and bee himself.
Me, i like them now and again.
The main problem is that Hasbro is oversaturating the market with Bumblebee figures. Every case of deluxes has 3 Bumblebees, with 1 of each of the other figures, or two if we're lucky. In my area, most of the Toys R Us stores (there are several) have a minimum of 20 Bumblebees on the shelf in deluxe class alone, spanning 3 different lines, and this is immediately after a major clearance sale It's absolutely ridiculous, and I don't know why/how Hasbro hasn't realized that they're releasing way too many. If they would even out the case assortments, then everyone (including kids) could have a variety of figures instead of just a wall of Bumblebees every time you step into the store. Everything else sells out right away because the collectors rush in and get them, because they know there's only 1 per case. At this point, the retailers are not to blame because they don't have control over case assortments. I'm sure they're just as sick of Bumblebee as we are. And the general public can't be that far off either, judging by how many Bees are still on the pegs.
So I'm fully expecting this Bumblebee Battle suit to be 3 per case with 1 Optimus Prime or something ridiculous like that. My beef is that it's yet another Bumblebee, instead of something new. The problem is that the toys are not changing, they're stagnating by releasing endless versions of Bumblebee and Optimus Prime in every single wave, and not giving other characters a chance.
