Makes sense as we already have a Metroflex.

Just don't have faith in him being 24" tall and even longer from nose to tail.
On that same note I don't want an Omega Supreme that's taller than Devastator, but again I don't have faith in Hasbro. Scorpronok seemed like the hardest citybot to mess up so he got my vote (aside from being the best citybot)

It's great to see hope alive and strong amongst the masses.
Hasbro doesn't exactly have a great track record when it comes to making things in the right scale. Ultra Powerglide? Deluxe Galvatron? Masterpiece Grimlock (OK, that one's on Takara). I want Trypticon to actually be 24" tall, not just 24" long, and Omega to be 18" tall to go with Devastator, I don't think that's asking a lot and maybe Hasbro will come through, but I'm just not that optimistic.
And I'm sure we'll get that Gigastorm right after that Metro Titan we never got. While we're at it we can beg for Omega Sentinel and Black Zarak. Let's just see if Hasbro actually makes that Autobot Build Team they were musing over a while back.
At least now Wipe-Out will have his boss to grovel to.
As for 2020, how about an updated Metroplex with Combiner Wars sockets in the legs and arms.

I just hope whichever one came in third Hasbro doesn't look at it as a lack of interest from fans and passes on it entirely. Plus I don't believe they've ever come out and said they'd make all three of these over consecutive years. 2018 could be Titan Predaking for all we know. Heck, it'll be for the third part of Prime Wars, it could be Titan Primus even.

It would make some sense in giving people all three at some point, would certainly make life easier for them but time will tell. Plus this way the three titans we already known about will get their rivals so the theory about 2018 and 2019 at least make sense that way.

So toys from 8 years ago are evidence that a toy 2 years from now will be improperly scaled? That's pretty weak (and unconvincing) tea, given everything that's happened between Universe 2.0 Powerglide/Galvatron and now.Emerje wrote:Hasbro doesn't exactly have a great track record when it comes to making things in the right scale. If anything, the advent of Generations generally, the release of Metroplex, and Combiner Wars (mold fatigue aside) should give folks plenty of confidence that Hasbro has the ability to deliver, and more than that, that they iare likely to do so.

10 years ago, we didn't even have Classics. It was the waning days of Cybertron. The fan in me honestly hopes you guys get the Trypticon you want, but the realist in me doesn't think you will.
I get it though, if Omega had won, I'd be filling up with hope and wishes too.
If anything, I'd imagine a partsformer like Omega to be much harder to execute. Which was harder to design, Metroplex, or Devastator? The question is irrelevant, because both turned out fine. So why all the hysterics now?

Trypticon makes more sense. We already sorta got an Omega Supreme and I don't think we need another Scorponok.

It was two examples in Hasbro's long history of inconsistencies. If you want more resent examples then how about what they're doing now with Headmasters. We just got Brainstorm and now he's been made obsolete by Titans Return by both having a head that's different from Titan Masters and being out of scale with at least some of the now Deluxe Headmasters. Plus a Powermaster Optimus Prime that isn't a Powermaster and Titan Masters that will never get their own proper bodies and yeah, I have little faith in Hasbro doing things that make sense.

Yes, that's how paragraphs usually work. New Paragraph, new thought.

Three figures isn't exactly a Titan class track record, especially when one's a remold. On one hand a 24" citybot and an 18" combiner would seem to dictate all future citybots (Trypticon, Scorponok) to also be 24" tall and combiners (if we want to call Omega Supreme that) to be 18", but at the same time these are all considered Titan Class which means height isn't the deciding factor, complexity is. So it isn't completely unbelievable for Trypticon, as bulky as it is, to be 18" tall and 24" long so they'll have something to hype.

Awww yis. Trypticon all the way.
I'm not even that interested in Titan Metroplex (I'm probably going to get the Maketoys version...eventually...) and I seriously want a Trypticon. I mean, I have neither the space nor the funds for him, but he's coming in 2017 so hopefully that will have changed by then.
Also, I have to admit, I really, REALLY hope he has lots of compartments and spaces for Legends Decepticons to commandeer him from within. He has a much bigger torso-to-leg ratio than Metroplex so hopefully his torso will have lots of playset value.

Be happy it is taking so long. That means a better chance of you trip fan boys getting a actual original/new mold, and not a cheap repaint.

Realistically, even if the timeline were shorter and this thing was planned for a early-mid 2017 release, how can folks conceivably think a figure like Trypticon could be a retool of something that already exists? On Scorponok I can see some recycling, but Trypticon? From what?
I understand being critical of Hasbro at times, but the negativity needed to think Hasbro will bamboozle us on Trypticon borders on conspiracy-driven paranoia. Once a figure's revealed, I'm sure we'll see valid critiques, but to suggest the possibility there won't be a new figure is somewhat baffling.

Well, let's be fair, what would it be 'retooled' from? Not stompnchomp grimlock, hasbro at least cares about making these guys well, and into actual bases also; I'm totally there with you about the hollowness and cynicism, but I think that all 3 of these guys are actually going to be pretty decent, Metroplex was, fort max looks pretty awesome, (TT's) devs looks pretty nice, and (most) of the figures from the rest of the lines have been really good too.

I agree with sentiments about tryp not being a retool, given its original mould there's no doubt it would be 100% new. There's no 'hoping you're right' about it. Biggest controversy about titan class is scrappers elbows from crying out loud. With that in mind, tryp is coming from a strong place.
Of course there is the question of what the sdcc version will look like and what takara will do

I for one remain cautiously optimistic. I can't imagine they'll screw up Trypticon unless they use, like, FOC-era levels of thin plastic and hollowness or try and cram his walking gimmick back in.
Question is, what should his vehicle mode be? A better version of his "land cruiser" mode the G1 toy had? The Nemesis? Or perhaps an orbital cannon like he turned into in WFC?
