He's a cool figure and looks good in both modes. I love a good car hood chest and he fits that bill perfectly. Getting his upper body to align and "snapped" in can be a bit of a pain, but once you figure it out it works really well. He is a little top heavy and his weak ankle are not helping. But I will take wobbly ankle tilts over no ankle tilts any day. Car mode is cool. All for doors open, seats are adjustable, hatch back works, hood opens and has a pretty good representation of the toyota engine and he also has tilt steering.Aside from his age-induced loose ankles what are your thoughts on XB Skids?
Cobotron wrote:An ya, Prowls chest is just a 2D version of the Classics mold. It's cool.
HAHAHA, I forgot about the new movies. Those are good fun. we just caught the sequel not too long ago.itscramtastic wrote:HFS!! I need complete silence while getting into character.

Well I am Australian. It's kinda what we're known for.

Oh oh, oh!carytheone wrote:Thanks. A double layer of some old shears the Mrs had laying around. I kinda feel like I need something a little more defusery or dimmer lights.
Good, thanks. All kindza thangz going on. Gonna party the neighborhood potluck on Monday! Might get my face painted like Spiderman. Who knows? I've been officially called in on a project, so I am also drawing like nuts. Feels good.carythebro wrote:So how's the labor day weekend going?

Sorry. Curtains.
Thanks, I'm pretty happy with the results. The shears are temporary until I find something a little better. It was a late night inspiration project, so I used what I had laying around. The shot looks great man. Moody, and crystalline. Really nice. I wonder if you got some nice artists parchment from an art supply store, if that would be a good option for more defuserieness?
That seems like a good thread. I was being encouraged towards a light box and after playing with my wife's diffuser I felt I needed two more. So a building I went. I guess I should probably disclose that my wife does a little amateur photography (might seem obvious considering I'm borrowing all her gear).I've been lurking "Focal Point". That will be a good thread. I no longer have, or will be getting any time soon, a nice camera. So I will watch, and learn. And make my iphone photos sing.![]()
Congrats and congrats. I was wondering how Mr. Bluestreak was enjoying BluestreakI've been officially called in on a project, so I am also drawing like nuts. Feels good.
I also am really into this blue Bluestreak on my desk.![]()
We we had plans with a few different folks, but they all fell through. We may fire up the ole grill today if the weather calms down a bit. Heading to the in-laws for a cookout tomorrow. How 'bout you? How will you and the Mrs., and Swerve relax?
Thanks, I've been hanging with a few new peeps and trying to get my learn on. If you haven't seen it yet you should check this thread.donny1975 wrote:Totally love that shot. That the light box is pretty kewl, kudos on using the old curtains. Love repurposing.
It's an micro 4/3s Olympus Pen EPL2 with an old Canon 50mm. I love that heavy glass lens. It has an insane depth of field. The camera is a few years old but has all the features you would want. I kinda have to fight the settings because of the lens. The only thing the camera can control is the shutter. Everything else is tweaking and lighting. I think I prefer it that way.The light balance/levels are great! What kind of camera is it? Bells? Whistles?
Thanks. I originally cut a couple holes in the top of the box to allow me to hold the background with clothespins, but the poster board was a little too short to allow the bend where I wanted it. So I taped up the holes and just taped the poster board in there. At 99 cents a pop, I figured tape damage wouldn't be to bad.leakin' lubricant wrote:That looks amazing! Nice job, what I like most about it is the option of using different colourd backgrounds with relative ease, take a bow sir!

That thread has gone dark, hopefully it will pick up. I was hoping maybe we could theme weeks or challenges or something. No reason we can't do that on our own threads thoughdonny1975 wrote:Hey Cary, I did pop over and check out that thread. I didn't have much time this past week to even lurk...

My work has been keeping me busy and on the road, so I've been hiding a bit myself.
Personally, I'm not really that concerned with settings. I'm using an old manual prime lens, so most of the settings are thrown out the window anyway. I would think you could just skip. I'm glad I took CP's advice and went the light box route.donny1975 wrote:carytheone wrote:That thread has gone dark, hopefully it will pick up. I haven't been in that thread in a minute but I might put one of my new photos up there but I would need to know the settings I used for the pic, eh?
We can certainly do themes and challenges for ourselves!
Hope your are enjoying your weekend and look forward to more of your Ballin' pics!
