It is going to be one hell of a fall for transformers fans that is for sure. I like the fact that they have gotten rid of the oversized guns likes rodimus had in favor of more really looking guns.

Alternators + Cybertron = Universe

Ok it's probably more Classics 1 than Cybertron but Classics was filler so I went with cybertron. They're taking the realism from alternators and mixing it with the old style of transformers toymaking that they've been using since g2 really (through beast wars, machines, rid, armada, energon, cybertron, classics). I guess this is to offset the goofy animated toys (which are fine, don't get me wrong).

What's smarter than combining two dead successful lines into one mega line?

Only thing is I wish they'd keep paint decos the same as g1 or similar. I don't want a silver powerglide.

Um, those are just prototypes.. I don't think there's any colored photos of them yet.

No dudette, there's an interview with these pics at hasbro.com with the lead designer. He talks about how they "modernized" all these characters. Like changing sunstreakers head to less g1 to fit the transformation, and making powerglide silver with red highlights to be more realistic.

I was expecting all the G1ers to shut up once these pictures came out
no more Animated bashing
no more playschool jokes
no more use of the word animated crap
no more "bayformer$" jokes
no more Michael messed up jokes
but instead theres more and more bashing
G1 is the right of all flaming beings

But I won't have to read all these dumass comments once I get ahold of all the awesome toys this year.
God, that Prowl looks nice, and usually I hate Prowl
That's what he should've looked like in Alternators, but instead he looked like Red Alert with his paintjob. And he's a Nissan 350z!

This entire first wave looks fantastic. I am fairly confident that the paint apps will not change how awsome these figures look. I, like many others on these boards, will be getting every single one from the first wave. I love the ratio of Autobots to Decepticons to help even out my Classics ranks!

This line will be off to an incredible start. I applaud Hasbro for recognizing the success of the Classics and hearing our cries to continue the line. If this first wave is a sign of things to come from the universe line then us fans are in for an awsome treat!

Hell, the entire Classics line lasted 3 days in my country. That was the time under which every store was robbed from them. The move line... The same amount of figures warm the shelves since months.

Yeah, I was abit sad to read he'll be Silver with Red, but I'll wait and see, he may have ALOT of red highlights which could make our concerns moot.

He'll be awesome all the same - LOVE the head sculpt.

That Prowl 350z mold looks so awesome, I hope we get a silver(with charcoal bonnet) Sliverstreak and a red & blue Smokescreen version(with a retool rear wing & front air dam like the G1 had).

It looks like Prowl's gun folds up to store in alt mode.

I wonder what Jazz will be? I'm hoping a Porche 911 lookalike.

Onslaught, also super amazing. This is gonna be sweet. If he's not going to combine I really hope we get a Stunticon set at some point. I want a Classics Dead End.

Powerglide..., meh I'm still not decided. Having him be bigger than my Prime, Magnus Jetfire and all the Seekers just doesn't seem right.

I wish Astrotrain had been Ultra size and Powerglide Deluxe.

I really like Onslaught, he looks pretty damn awesome, especially in bot mode. He has his signature gun barrels even if he has a different alt mode now.

Powerglide's reimagining is interesting, as long as it's not too top heavy.

And everyone else is all kinds of awesome. ALL kinds!

And thanks to everyone who posted a digi-bash. They look great, hope someone at Hasbro has a look at some of those paint schemes if they haven't finalised them already.

I really have to agree. I will be picking up a few extra to repaint incase Habro decides not to make Bluestreak,Smokescreen.

I'll be grabbing an extra Sunstreaker too. Take off the rocket pack and head and replace with Prowl's head and siren. Paint whiote, go to reprolabels and should have a nice Red Alert.

It's kinda difficult not to bash Animated and Bayformers when you're comparing them to these guys. The Bayformers look even worse as a result, and the Animated stuff looks like it's aimed at very young children. As I'm not a fan of crap, and I'm not a very young child, I'll be spending my money on Classics 2.0, and buying Animated only if I can't find Classics or I've bought them all. This has really killed what little interest I had in the upcoming Movie releases.

Right? I was reading this thread all surprised that for once there was no bashing, and then I read this one. A post bashing people who bash, but is ironically the only post really bashing anyone in this thread. Nice job.

Hmm, anyone else thinking of passing on Powerglide in favor of the inevitable red Takara version. I;m not sure how I feel about silver. Could someone digibash up a silver one with red accents?

It's a nice touch that Hasbro has posted these prototypes on their website along with editor's notes. It's not often that they do this, and I hope they will continue this with their fans.

A couple interesting notes- Takara helped out with the designs, I wonder if that means that Takara will release these down the road? And if they do, will they release them in updated colors, like the Henkei Classics?

Also, does anyone know what is meant by the comments that Prowl and Tankor have an "innovated head reveal". Does that mean their heads will transform?

I don't know how, but I will get them. They're so amazing. Finally, a new better G1 line, enough of the movie designs.
