What? Who said it was a shock? I'm pointing out why people are so excited by Classics 2.0, and why that might seem to be bashing Animated.

These are awesome designs. Sticks to the G1 look but bought bang up to date and check that detail out! I hope that the colouring process doesnt mess them up. I want gritty realistic colours and not simply blocks of solid garish colour.

I took that as meaning "you wont have revealed a TFs head in this way before". Looking at Prowl I think the bonnet (hood) pivot is at the front of the bonnet rather than the back - and off the top of my head I can't think of a toy that has that style of head reveal

Since wave 1 looks so good I can't wait to see what they have in store for us in the next wave(s).
So far I plan to get all but Octane/Tankor and Sunstreaker, but I might change my mind on those two by the time they come out. I definitely intend to get Prowl and Onslaught if none other though and can't wait for August.

We don't want freaking repaits we want Prowl,Octane,Powerglide,and onslaught. I don't like SS's head I think I might replace it with the alterators version

Man oh Man do those figures look awesome those are the best that I have seen since...hell in a long long time. I would love to see what they could do with and original combiners set. Man I'd better start saving up.

I agree with a couple of other folks here-Sunstreaker is a bit of a disappointment to me. He's really chunky. I'm digging Powerglide and Onslaught though. I had the two originals and might actually pick them up. I could do without Tankor. The name change bothers me and the transformation is only so so.

I'll buy 'em all.

Based on some of the descriptions and opinions that I have heard from others who have seen the colored versions, they did not like them.

Have heard, but can't confirm because my magazine isn't here yet, but Powerglide has a lot of white on him (and some red).

I really like Octane's robot mode. That is a killer pose.

And finally, a sweet poseable Prowl. Sure Alt Prowl was cool, but this one, I don't know there's something about it that is much more G1. I like it, and can't wait for the inevitable Silverstreak/Bluestreak repaint, and Smokescreen remold.

Is it me or does Onslaught's head look different here than it did on the TFCC magazine pic we saw. This one looks much more Bruticus/Onslaught like, the other reminded me more of Energon Barricade's head... :-?

I guess the paint job makes it look thinner, and different than the grey version. It's a shame.

Help i'm dieing of dehidration here get me some water. but on the topic of these figures ME WANT ME WANT ME WANT. Now i'll be serious.
Sunstreaker actually looks better than the first pic I saw for some reason. score 7/10
Prowl looks fricken awesome i'm definately getting him. score 9/10 would be 10/10 if he was coloured.
Tankor/Octane is my favourite out of them all he'll be the first one I buy if I dont buy them all at the same time. score 9/10 like prowl.
Powerglide looks great but I would prefer red with grey trim, but still looks great. score 8/10
Onslaught still looks great but now I got to see his alt mode it wasn't what I was expecting but it was still cool. score 10/10
I was thinking of getting most of animated but i'll just get a couple of them to save up for these new classics.

Its good they made Prowl. The mold just screams for a repaint. More Autobots in a future wave.

In the designer notes it says that they weren't able to use the name Octane. It didn't say why, but I would assume that they don't have the rights to it.

i'll never understand people who base the desirability of a toy on anything other than its intrinsic qualities. Ive heard it all, I dont want this figure because:

Its not accurate to teh cartoon.
its not got its G1 alt mode.
the robots not like its G1 mode.
I dont like the character in the movie/toon/comic.
I dont like prime toys ever, he sucks.
its for kids.
the names wrong.
i hate TF animated cartoon so hate the toys.
its the wrong size for 'x'.
the scales all wrong in this line so they suck.
the colours wrong for this character.
oh and my favourite is 'its not what im used to', does that not say a lot about somebody??

etc, admittedly some seem to buy a toy they DONT like for the opposite reasons (where they work) eg, I hate animated prime but I have every prime so i have to buy it!!

I get a toy for one reason, because i like that toy for itself, nostalgic baggage isnt a good thing.

Right? I was reading this thread all surprised that for once there was no bashing, and then I read this one. A post bashing people who bash, but is ironically the only post really bashing anyone in this thread. Nice job.

Hmm, anyone else thinking of passing on Powerglide in favor of the inevitable red Takara version. I;m not sure how I feel about silver. Could someone digibash up a silver one with red accents?

What do you mean? I saw these pictures and was amazed, wanted to see what people say and the first comment was praising it which I'm okay with. But also bashing another series which i'm not okay with. this line doesn't have anything to do with Animated so why don't we not mention it at all. especially if its bashing it.
maybe there aren't that many bashing comments and my mind was playing tricks on me but everytime I see something that is G1 I get excited and then someguy decides to be a buzzkill by talking about how much Animated or the Movie suck. It gets annoying and it happens everyday. Why can't we just like Transformers and if there was something about them that bugged you, you'd ignore it and keep your mouth shut.
Oh and yeah i don't like the idea of the silver Powerglide. but I'm not willing to spend 60 dollars plus international shipping just to get the show accurate colors. I might just pass on the mold all together. those boobs are weird lookin. but still getting Prowl and Sunstreaker no matter what. Hasbro is gonna repaint/remold the hell outta the Prowl mold. Smokescreen, Silverstreak, Jazz. All the most popular characters get that type of design. And so many of those repaints will be expensive exclusives. My wallet just dropped a toaster in his bathtub. Good thing i left the money out to see if I'd have enough for the rest of the movie line and animated, plus this.

P.S. Is it just me or does Onslaught transform into Bulkhead? Why couldn't Bulkhead be the ultra and Onslaught be the voyager with a few deluxe sized partners? I want a bruticus.

The car just looks like the 350z. it has minor changes in the design (look closely at the headlights). Just like BB looks like a peugeot.

Man, what's taking these so long. Why'd Hasbro have to waste all their money on the movie repaints. Why couldn't they save up money to make better, new toys. instead they made crappy toys, and better repaints of them. Now we gotta wait till fall. :sad:

After looking pretty hard at Sunstreaker's alt mode, I belive that the 'roof engine', just needs to be folded back onto the trunk area.

I think it rotates 180 degrees to lay flat against the rear.

Look at the exhausts, they seem to be upside down when situated on the roof.
