As for me, I think this is one topic to just smile and accept, knowing this all started with a kids' cartoon. Trying to pick this one apart is like unmasking Vader to find a pubescent whiny kid. Best to leave this one to mystery.![]()
Unless it is Bay's Devastator, right?![]()
Please don't bring that up, I'd JUST managed to forget and now it's in my brain again.

They do in this non-real science fiction. Otherwise, if we're only speaking in completely real world terms, then your talking about Transformers as actual beings (fictional or otherwise) is rendered completely moot since the Transformers as just as nonexistent as any other alien beings.shockblast2 wrote:You do know aliens do not exist, right?
And because it varies upon the writer, that further emphasizes the diversity that goes into the creation and depiction of each fictional alien species across the mass media, illustrating that not all of them conform to the same biological standards as us humans because not all writers portray all aliens in the same way. As you say, it all depends on the writer, and some writers depict aliens that don't adhere to the biological functions of humans.shockblast2 wrote:So you have no basis of comparison in which to make this statement......lol. Unless you are basing this on every sci fi movie you have ever seen, to which there is no standard because it changes depending on the writer of the fiction. Either or, it is a silly statement to make.
Again, sex is biological, while gender is cultural.shockblast2 wrote:And your comment about sex vs gender, again, does NOT apply to a race of alien robots! Why? because they are alien robots that do not reproduce and both sex and gender are based on the fact that we do have a difference because of reproduction.
But if you really want me to go there, then behold! Biological TF reproduction:

Civilians can own weapons, including swords.shockblast2 wrote:Windblade's civilian origins are irrelevant as most autobots were not war machines either. Still doesn't explain why a fragile robot who is not built for combat would have a sword as its weapon.

I wouldn't even be reading the comics if the Windblade preview hadn't pulled me in. I liked it more than either of the ongoings (and definitely more than the G.I. Joe crossover curently running, I don't see the appeal of that one at all), and I can't wait for it to return AS an ongoing.

I guess I'm weird. I've thoroughly enjoyed both the Joe and Windblade series. Both are out in left field compared with previous iterations, but enjoying both a lot.

That still happens to be asexual reproduction. I feel we must concede that there is no evidence of sexual reproduction among Transformers. However, there is evidence to hint at there being at least sexual ACTIVITY among Transformers. Unsurprisingly, this comes mainly from remarks made by Rattrap in the Beast Wars cartoon. Stay classy, Rattrap.

It's actually explained in the comic that she comes from a resource-poor world where guns are considered wasteful. You miss with a sword, it's still in your hand, you miss with a gun, you ain't gonna get your bullet/laser/whatever back.
And then her bodyguard Chromia, who's from the same planet as her in this continuity, gets a toy that comes with a gun. Just can't win, can you?

Sabrblade wrote:If you truly knew the fiction, you'd know that Windblade exists in a post-war setting, and that she originated from a Cybertronian colony planet that had largely been isolated from warfare. Ergo, she's not built for combat. She's a civilian.
Actually, given her "cityspeaker" role, I feel there's an argument to be made that she'd qualify as a diplomat.
Sabrblade wrote:For Earthlings, yes. But is this a universal truth for all extra-terrestrial lifeforms in existence? Not all aliens conform to the same bodily functions of us humans, and it is arrogant for us to always think so.shockblast2 wrote:And that would be fine, except for the fact that they have boobs! And just what are boobs for? Feeding the offspring of one who reproduces.
At the risk of sounding like a pervert, given how many humanized bodily functions are on display in the various Transformers fictions, is there any reason to assume that these breasts aren't capable of transferring energon to other Transformers?
shockblast2 wrote:Now, you can see why it is silly, and is nothing more than a marketing ploy to attract females to a male dominated brand.
Actually, gender was on the poll in the second batch of options, and the fans VOTED for female. In fact, I recall seeing complaints that gender wasn't on the poll during the first bunch of options, before anyone knew there'd be a second batch.

You got your first fundamental point wrong. Everything you say afterward is moot.
Birds do it, bees do it, even Super Robot Lifeforms do it. Even if it doesn't result in reproduction (just so long as they're practicing safely!) because it's fun and it brings you closer together and these are emotional beings we're talking about.
And then there's Rewind and Chomedome.
As for Windblade, I guess we could have gotten worse.

While I love G1 I also love new innovations and takes on the characters.
I prefer official Hasbro releases of stuff for the most part
I'm not a huge fan of Japanese original Transformers media or designs.
It's easier for me to say which are my LEAST favorite toy lines: Beast Machines, Robots in Disguise.
TFCon List: Classics Skywarp, General Optimus, BW Airrazor, Transmetal Tarantulus, Alternity Prime, Fire Convoy

In reply to above... I DO really like Windblade and her alt mode. Took a sec to warm up to her, but now I really like. The tilting turbines are a really nice touch.
All this said, I would still love a Generations Slipstream. Maybe they can retool her a bit to deliver.

I don't think so, I wasn't sold on it at first but I've been won over. Though I would like a slightly-retooled head that looks closer to Sarah Stone's art.

Those Airrazors look great, but if we get an Airrazor, I'd hope for one that turns into a bird. Either one of those would be great as a "Beast Wars: Uprising" Airrazor, though. Get on it, funpub.

I wonder if it's much better than the regular spray sealer I've been using. I keep procrastinating on my Transmetals because I'm not sure if I should disassemble them first, and my Shokaract already has cracks that I should probably fill in with shiny paint first. It's several years too late for any red chrome anyway.ScottyP wrote:I put a top coat on my Leader Jetfire's chrome parts this weekend, and now I can handle them freely without chrome flaking. Love this stuff! Gonna have to try it out on some Transmetals next.
So please do update us on how that turns out!

Generations Leader Ultra Magnus Rumored to be on the way?
Posted by mooncake623 Tue Oct 28, 2014 9:20 pm
From DecepticusPrime@tfw2005
Whilst scanning through the transformers at work today, I scanned the AOE leaders and found the 2 Megatrons to be crossed with the movie leaders and a listing for an Ultra Magnus.
Please treat this as nothing more than a rumor for now. So Masterpiece Ultra Magnus and Generations Leader class Ultra Magnus in the same year? Will this be a new mold or another Prime repaint? Let us know what you think and speculate away here at our Energon Pub and remember keep your optics tuned to Seibertron.com for the latest in news and updates, plus the best galleries around!

Think this is great news as I love the TF Leader scale toys and love the Ultra Magnus character toys.
What I'd like to see in a Generations Leader scale Ultra Magnus is the IDW G-1 comic art designs used on the toy sculpt. Want it to be a huge one piece transformation back and forth. Don't want to see any parts forming combined modes.
