Gorira is amazing. BUT... he's not a an absolutely necessary piece. Others have pointed out that the original figure is still amazing (which I totally agree with) which makes him mostly for the hardcores.

TM2 Megatron however... is fine, but hasn't stood the test of time. This new PE version might be more of a "need" than Gorira was :-?

This thing looks great, and there were just enough things that I'd want addressed with a big expensive tm2 megs that I might be watching this one :-?

Things I'd like:

-ball-jointed dragon neck and tail

-poseable wings (without the flip out gimmick)

...and that's it, the only things holding back the original figure...

OK, I might be able to justify this after all. That is beautiful. I love the eyes in the sword hilts. I just really hope PerfectEffect don't drop the ball on QC like they did with Leonidas.

Also, Cryotek when?

It is reaaaaaaaaaaally nice. I thought I heard the QC was pretty good on Beast Gorira, so I'm guessing they learned from the past? I didn't even notice those sword jewels!!

Really? I never heard of PE having anything with QC issues, that's a new one for me. I have a bunch of PE stuff and they've been top notch ;)^

Back to Doragon, he's a darker red than I'd have thought. Otherwise =P~

Seeing this make me regret not buying Beast Gorira, which is the third party figure I was the closest to ever buying. As for this one? Its quite different from the action figure and show model, being more angular and mechanical, like a normal Transmetal rather than a Transmetal 2. And you know what? I'm...fine with this! It was never explained in the show why Megatron's powered up form was a TM2 rather than 1, given that all previous TM2 had the involvement of the Vok's transmetal driver (Dinobot 2, Cheetor and Blackarachnia) or their direct intervention (Tigerhawk). The only reason Megatron's upgraded form was one is that 'its what was in the toyline at the time' and the writers rushed in the upgrade for the finale.

So, to me, this actually looks way closer to what Megatron's dragon form would have looked like as a direct counterpart to Optimal Primal. The fact it has a more proper vehicle mode which hint at a cannon or a tank (dare I say this being generally accepted as the cybertronian mode of G1 Megatron?) is perfect.

In other words? I am fangasming at how amazing this looks in both nailing the original design while actually, in my highly biased opinion, improving over it.

Due to the preorder quantities exceeding our expectations, the factory has informed us that the additional quantities will result in an unfortunate delay.
We regret to inform you that releasing the product during July will not be possible! However the product is in the last stages of production and we are using the highest QC standard to evaluate this product!
The current date is late August, thank you for your patience and we really appreciate all the support!
