Bloody Nora! :shock: He's certainly big. I'm very happy he can wield that cannon properly in robot mode. Really starting to look forward to this guy now.

I personally couldn't care less about Spike. This is (finally, and fortunately) a comic-accurate Fort Max and one that fits nicely with the rest of the MTMTE cast :D

With this being IDW Fort Max, I just don't need any humans... I never liked the whole binary-bonding thing anyway (except with the Masterforce series but that was another story!). I respect your tastes nevertheless :lol:

I look at it as a bot mode + noggin mode, with the rest of the modes being gravy.

So I'm digging it.
However, I don't want this super-detailed, super-articulated figure riding on top of a G1 cinder block. I know a full on, 3P Fort Max would be an expensive prospect, but I'm kind of hoping for one.

Would people get behind a Fort Max gestalt?
Arms, legs and body made up of multiple figures with bot, alt and combined forms?
Might be a lot easier to afford than a $$$$$ 3P Fort Max to go under this guy.

It would be easier to swallow for a number of people. Myself included, but there's the danger of the company going under and leaving you with a pile of parts.

With the combiners, at least you've got a robot and alt mode.

6 Sets that comes with a headmaster each, and their transtectors transforms between bot, FortMax limb, and a random vehicle mode. Also comes with a piece of SixGun. :michaelbay:

I would not like that. As risky as it'd be splitting the figure up into multiple releases, I'd prefer them to do that. I really wouldn't want each piece to have it's own robot mode though. Seperate alt. modes I could tolerate, but not an all aspects gestalt. I think that would detract too much from who Fortress Maximus is as a character, and the engineering required to pull it off would surely see its appearance suffer.

Honestly I'm not sure I can see it happening. Given the size of Warden in head mode, an in proportion city capable Fortress Maximus would probably be about 2 1/2 to 3 feet tall.

I like the robot mode design and headmaster gimmick, but just about every single alt mode looks bad. The elevated tank thingie is weak, the other tank just looks like a mound of mechanical parts on treads with a huge gun, and the head mode is both just a tad bit too big for the actual Fort Max toy and is kind of a great big waste for anyone who doesn't already own said Fort Max toy. Top all that off with Perfect Effect's penchant for parts forming and the appeal falls flat.

I do like the robot mode and the Cerebros/Spike Headmaster guy... but not quite enough I think to overcome all those other issues

If this is supposed to be IDW Fort Max, shouldn't he have leg guns? I mean, isn't that kind of a major feature, physically, and a running joke (when Trailbreaker/Trailcutter gets drunk and compliments him on them, then he gets his own made) that would have to be there for IDW?
