Grimlock? Cool - Hopefully the Masterpiece line doesn't become lopsided to the autobots as with most other lines.

Well I guess it would balance the molds for

2 Autobots vs. 2 Decepticons

then they could do soundwave and so on.

Actually there would be 3 Autobots and 3 Decepticons. Right now the Decepticons outnumber the Autobots.

Autobots: Prime and Magnus.
Decepticons: Megatron, Starscream and Skywarp

So Grimlock would even out the line. And they would have the option of the inevitable repaint into G2 Grimlock.

Very cool to have Grimlock as a Masterpiece.

I'm not going to post this as news yet. Bsed on the shadow image I suspect it is Grimlock, but I also have a suspicion it could be encore.

Using Grimlock's original boxart as the silohuette to me makes me think it's more Encore release than Masterpiece.

If this is an Encore release, Hasbro/Tomy will have some serious explaining to do when they flat out told us at BotCon that the Dinobots were not a possibility.

Interesting, it may be MP7, but also Encore.
It may be an Encore version, I mean they gave us Omaga Supream, a mold they said they didn't own!

Well, the Japanese script over the Image does read
"Master Piece series".

So if this is an official image it must be master Piece.

Anyway An MP Grimlock would be amazing to see. However there are many others I'd like to see first, like Hot Rod, Rodimus Prime, Galvatron, A minibot like Bumblebee, etc.

Alas, I gave up my hopes of this thread being about Soundwave....oh well, Grimlock is another of my favorite characters. A MP version is simply awesome. As long as he comes w/Energo-Sword I'm cool w/this. Transparent Energo-Sword. Although based on MP Prime & Megs, this won't be a problem. I'll start giving my hopes up for Soundwave again now......

We've basically got Hot Rod with Alternator Rodimus, and Classic Bumblebee is also a fine fit for the MP line.

Grimlock I'm not too happy about. There's probably a dozen characters I'd sooner rather see.

Although, I would be very happy with a Masterpiece Grimlock.. I'm going to doubt it

If it's official, then it's a Masterpiece, as someone said. It says so over Grimlock's image (Masterpiece series). As for the article next to it, I can barely make out anything on it, but it mentions Gundam a lot for some reason.

Any new mold in the MP line I'm all happy even though I'm not a fan of the Dinobots or Grimlock. With that, I'll can't wait to get it. Hopefully, he'll be same size as Prime or Megatron.

A grimlock MP figure? This will be my first MP figure then because Grimlock is well worth it. Yeah, we all could name a dozen figures that would be better but this is so out in left field.... it will work!

Actually, I think it was always fan assumption that because Omega's mold belonged to another company, he couldn't be done. I don't think Hasbro ever took any position on the Bandai etc molds.

Well no matter, if it's a reissue or an MP, both will be fine for me, after all I need something to replace my zombie Grimlock with, damn childhood. I still wonder today why I did that to him...

Don't forget the obligatory/fanboy "he needs a crown!" too. (or you'll pay $30 aftermarket dollars on some upgrade kit...

He never had a crown, but a Junkion that kisses him would be awesome, or a little Wheely or Daniel or.......
