It merely takes elements and references from assorted religions to create its own unique mythos and with the intention of making the series more "exotic and unique", rather maintain the original meanings behind the references it alludes to.triKlops wrote:While I have no previous experience with NGE, my understanding that it is a Christian allegory anime that is wildly popular amongst fans, seems to be a really interesting crossover of universes.
Add to the fact that OPrime has died and been resurrected multiple times, provides for several cross continuity points that could be very intriguing.
The Chronicles of Narnia would be a better example of a Christian allegory, whereas Neon Genesis Evangelion is something else entirely and very likely wouldn't be approved of by members of some of more conservative religious groups.

The creators of evangelion have repeatedly stated the religious symbols are only included because they "look cool". Nothing. MORE.
I'd suspect at least a small story of some kind. Either a mini-manga or text story or something, at the very least.shajaki wrote:i love evangelion. whatever comes of this, ill be buying.
but im confused... what does any of this mean? are we getting toys? a cartoon? a manga? ......

I assure you, it's not.
This figure is called "Optimus EVA Prime" and, like some higher end S.H. Figurarts and S.I.C figures, will be a Tamashii Web Exclusive.

Wait, what? That's kinda hard to swallow. Wouldn't that mean Bandai made this (Tamashii is part of Bandai)? I have a hard time believing Takara would let them handle anything with a Transformers logo on it. Also, the quality of the joints is far inferior to what we'd see from Bandai in S.H.F. or Robot Damashii. I'm more likely to believe it's a Takara Tomy Arts mini figure with such simple joints.
