I'd rather they left the characters alone instead of making a lazy attempt and re-hashing molds that have already been used to a dozen other characters before them. It cheapens the figures they are attempting to pay tribute to. I don't care if it's Million or Hasbro or whoever. Show some respect for the characters by either giving them their own new molds or don't even bother trying.
And yes, I'm quite aware that they used molds over again back in the original series but way back then there was this thing called moderation. Nowadays, they go absolutely ape-sh** cranking out repaint after repaint of any given mold and it's just sickening and insulting.
yes. in the past their reuse of molds have been quite lazy. just simply repaints. but lately theyve been giving us new heads to boot. which may not sound like much, but it goes leaps and bounds to please me at least.Diem wrote:In addition, Hasbro are getting increasingly smart about doing repaints better. Alternate headsculpts? Great idea.

Million Publishing exclusives are always straight redecos. Goshooter gets an existing head for that mold.dedcat wrote:My vote is for Go Shooter (on the condition he gets a retooled head)

Only if it gets made. Only one of these toys is gonna be made a reality.sixshot20 wrote:I really like the alpha trion and silverbolt but I see that silverbolt going for an extremely high price

BraveMax wrote:Snakas has more info up. This is from the Generations Book to be released this weekend. It's a vote for the next book's exclusive, who will figure prominently into part two of the "Train Wars" story. You vote for it when you send in the post card to buy Shouki.
These are all mockups (photoshops, I think), so some will vary from the final product.
Going down the list; his comments with addendums from what I can make out from the pic. I've got the book incoming soon, so I'll update when I get it in hand:
1. Alpha Trion from Scourge. Will come with Vector Sigma. The rest of it is hard for me to understand - I think it says the Vector Sigma will be a repaint of a Sparkbot? That or "the Vector Sigma that appropriated the Sparkbots" - so maybe some reference to a specific story?
2.The Fallen from FOC Onslaught. The combined mode head will be Ruination's, not Bruticus'.
3. Sunstreaker (Police Type) from Sunstreaker. It notes that this name is a placeholder, and says that he'll come with sirens and a partner.
4. Smokescreen from Smokescreen. Notes that it's using the same colors as the G2 Bomber - as in, the text below the picture does. So... Making that reference official?
5. Autobot Drift (Black Version) from Drift. Notes that this name is a placeholder.
6. Overdrive from Prowl. No notes.
7. Camshaft from Wheeljack. Notes that Tracks' weapons will also be included. (Snakas says it will use Tracks' weapons, but the picture says that "Tracks' parts will also be included.")
8. Downshift from Ironhide. No notes.
9. Metals Silverbolt from BH Grimwing. No notes.
10。GoShooter from "Goldbug Bumblebee" (IDW Bumblebee). Says the head will be Nightbeat's, and that it will come with his partner, Gou Shuuta, but that they haven't decided what toy that will be yet.
Snakas also notes that they're planning on including Microns and other forms of partners with all of these, though I haven't found that info in the pic yet.

Since Snakas said the weapons, probably those clip on guns Tracks had that Wheeljack replaced with wrenches.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:7. I wonder which Tracks parts they'd use? The back and bumper bits?

Wolfman Jake wrote:I'm really digging the idea of getting the Omnibots finally in the "Classics" line. The mold choices for the repaints are definitely a lot more clever and well thought out than some people are giving credit for. My worry is that, even if we get one of them, we'll ONLY get that one. I'd love to get the Omnibots as a whole set. Does anyone thing Million Publishing would offer a gift set of them at a higher price than their exclusives usually sell for?

Agreed. Definitely want all 3, not just 1. Also, I'm not familiar with this Million Publishing thing; will we be able to buy these in the USA, without paying some ridiculous 2nd hand prices?

I think I've seen some of these (if I'm not mistaken) on TFSource for reasonable prices in the past, so that give me some hope.
