I mean I put pics into threads, but for 3 pages now I've had to scroll sideways to read a friggin post... could we leave the Han Solo pics alone now??

Now you know what the people on dial up feel when they read your posts!

Actually, I found a seller that had stock of the prime blade for $13 each and posted a thread linking to it as an alternative to the outrageous $80 tag some sellers wanted.
His stock was gone overnight, purchased by seibertronians. The prime blade custom also looks far closer to the movie than this "premium" release.
Here is the link, he has 11 available in the movie orange.

GetterDragun wrote:Hasbro doesn't do accessories, plus that one on e-bay was like $80. My point anyways is that Hasbro could make a figure, then people could suggest an improvement, and Hasbro does it for the same price, yet somebody will complain about it. Well I guess what they shouldn't think of improving their products anymore.Liege Evilmus wrote:

Let's face it, Hasbro's been doing this since the beginning of the Transformers franchise, so what's the difference now? Let's take, for example, BW Dinobot; he's been repainted/remolded so many times, it's not even funny:
Original release => Takara's release => Hasbro's 10th Anniversary => Takara's 10th, not to mention all the repaints/slight remolds into different characters (a la 08 Bumblebee to Cliffjumper)
It's economically reasonable for Hasbro to milk the molds for all they're worth (see: Dinobot again, Energon Arcee, etc.), and we're obviously going to have hindsight-bias every time as well. But, I doubt that Hasbro pre-planned the premium line months in advance. The only reason they're having a premium line, I'd say, is based upon how well the original line did, and that's nobody's fault but our own.
All this hostility is annoying and reminiscent of many fan-overreactions of the recent past. Hasbro's not making anybody buy these, and, frankly, we should be glad that demand for Transformers is high enough to warrant this line.
Personally, I held out (aka was broke at the time) and I'm looking forward to getting a couple of these.
Skowl wrote:The bottom line is that nobody is putting a gun to anybody's head, and forcing them to buy these new Premium figures.
Complain all you want about Hasbro not telling us in advance, but where does it say they have to? They're running a business and trying to make the most cash out of these toys. It's not being evil or malicious, it's just being clever. If they told us ahead of time, then nobody would have bought the toys the first time around, and they would have lost loads of cash!
Just be thankfully that - for the collectors who DO want to buy some of the toys over again with more accurate paint decos - Hasbro came through and gave us a CHOICE of which toy to buy, instead of just leaving us with the original pink and blue Leader Megs.

Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.

I take issue with a few things here.
Counterpunch wrote:First off, the mild discontent expressed by a few people here is nothing compared to the bitchfest of BotCon, the movie designs, or animated. I don't think anyone here has really even been all that unreasonable.
Counterpunch wrote:Now, everyone knows Hasbro is going to milk the lines for all they're worth. Up until now we have seen actual repaints, redecos, and wholly different paint apps, not just marginally improved paint aps. The fear that TF lines could get to a Star Wars point is valid, though not truly likely to come to pass (TFs being too expensive really).
Counterpunch wrote:Now, buyer's remorse? No, not hardly. It's not like I can't buy these. Hell, I will probably buy Megatron and maybe Starscream. What I do not like is not having prior information that said, 'collectors! you might want to hold out entirely for this wave...' Why? because it's all about planning. Hunting & finding is expensive in of itself. Re-buying an entire line for a marginal upgrade? It screams "Malibu Stacey has a new HAT!" to me. (Simpsons reference)
Counterpunch wrote:[I can and might re-buy these toys. Maybe, I dunno yet. I'm tired of the movie toys. I'm just not thrilled at the ride which is getting us to this 'premium' line.
Sid Burn wrote:I dont think collectors enjoy questioning their loyalty to Hastak.
Lets take the example of the BW Reborn set, you could argue these are "premium"" versions of the old sculpts...but they came out on the 10th anniversary of BW. That made it acceptable, it was a nice gesture 10 years later. 6 months later? That stinks of gouging.
The Takara Dreamwave book collection offered "premium" versions of G1 favourites, with added accessories and face sculpts, but again this was 20 years later give or take. That made it special. A act of appreciation for the original Transformer fan.
The point is, there is nothing wrong with these premium figures except that Hasbro pulled the trigger on them far too soon.
Hasbro should have kept these premium movie figures off shelves until the sequel came out at least.
Then they would have been a nice tip of the hat to collectors, not a slap in the face to all those who hunted for the original releases.
I want the premium leaders, I just dont want them 6 months after I buy the original release. This makes me question my loyalty to Hasbro, this makes me second guess future releases. When a consumer feels taken advantage of, that is never good business, this is a shortsighted move for the transformers brand.
