Hey Seibertronians, I wanted to let you know about this. MY MP Megatron's shoulder screw munt is stripping. Meaning, his arm is falling off. So far, I managed to rethread it back on. (At the cost of the blood in my thumb in trying to straighten the ratcheting piece) I have played with mine, but I've always been careful. As near as I can figure, it's wearing from Transforming and leveraging of the shoulder joints.
So, word to the wise and let us know if yours is doing too. After the Cosmic Rust issue, maybe Meggy isn't the hottest fig we thought he'd be.

Is yours one of the first generation Megatrons?
I truly hope so. I don't want mine falling apart- which is one of the ones being made for release in January.
Surely poor QC is the demon behind all of this ruckus?

if you shake it more than twice you're playing with yourself.
seriously,
he's not a transformer that you should well, transform all the time. he's one of the most fragile pieces out there.
or just buy another and go to town on the old one?

Correction- MP-01, Masterpiece Prime, 20th Anniversary, or WHATEVER you want call him is one of sturdiest Transformers I own. MP-05 is a POS and will NEVER grace my collection. I've got better TF's to buy rather than waste $100-$200 on an inaccurate showpiece!

Scream it to the heavens brotha! It's retarded that the figure is over a $100 and yet the quality control is a complete failure. I swear Takara is turning into Yamato lately.

Well, gotta expect that a shoulder carrying a heavy peice of plastic might wear down if you put alot of stress on it.
Anyone else having this problem? I've always avoided making it carry too much wieght. And how's that other arm doing?

This is really sad. For the movie, no one can seem to produce a good Megatron. For the MP series, there are all kinds of issues. It's sad that such an awesome character gets such shabby treatment.
I'm really glad that i didn't buy MP Megaton. As awesome as he looks, the flaws are an embarrassment to Takara.

In fact the original G1 Megatron I had for almost 20 years is still one of the best I've seen. Accessories wise, and it transforms nicely and still doesn't feel like it might fall apart. Plus, who could fail to appreciate the ironic placement of the trigger in bot mode?

and this is the reason why I don't like mp megs... its too fragile... its like a piece that needs to stay in a collection box, like in the museums.

haha You read my mind Muffin.
Should we start waiting for the later production runs on the MP figures?
On the Megs QC note; my Meg's crotch has become loose. The plastic tabs attached to the bar that attaches to his legs has bent inwards a fraction and now it's gone all loose-y goose-y. His torso falls backwards...
Don't know if I should put something between them to make them straight or just keep leaning him against that wall.

I think so.
He's got a couple of minor problems that should be fixed in the next run.
Even though I have a bit of an issue with mine, I've never regretted buying him.

none of those issues seem to be effecting my MP Megatron... my shoulder joints and feet are cosmic rust free, the chest is placed correctly, there are no loose screwsa, and for the most part he's like perfect.. I've transformed him several times, and still he's as solid as ever and his joints are very very tight.. almost too tight, but that's okay.. i don't want a loose transformer...
I like them to be prudish...and not give up that position easily..errr...ummm.... on the shelf that is..
maybe it's a hit or miss.. I just kept looking for Rust and other defects.. maybe it was a certain batch of feet that were tainted in their production..but my chrome feet look just as sparkily and bright as the day i opened him...

I just got mine and I love it. I've only transformed him twice once into gun mode and then back. The only problem mine has is the foreare piece and the shoulder piece won't line up properly in gun mode, resulting in the rear section of the gun sticking up a little. Overall though it's not that noticeable, and I may figure out some way to make it line up eventually. It is a very fragile piece and I don't see my self transforming it very often, maybe when the accesory kit arrives. Not to mention the fact that my nerves are shot by the time I'm done. I figured it's one of those figures that I would be kicking myself down the road if I didn't pick it up.

There is a way to line it up in gun mode. It takes a little manipulation with the "z" type folding in the shoulders and an uncomfortable amount of pressure to push it into place.

I don't know I applied quite a bit of pressure, but decided I better quit while I was ahead.

And that's on of my biggest gripes with MP-05. You just don't know if your getting a toy or a bad egg that will most likely crack. If I could be guaranteed that all MP-05's were as stury as yours, Skywarp, I'd probably get him.

That happened to me with him twice. One time the screw loosening ,and the other it coming off. But it's easy to fix. There's a screw on the shoulder. Tighten it with a small screwdriver. Mp Megatron isn't a figure you want to be transforming. Snapped up two pegs during a couple of transformations on mine. Need two different spare parts to fix him. It will be a while until I see those parts on ebay. Not going to transform him anymore from now on. Warning don't mess with him. He's too fragile like Mp Starscream.

I'll be transforming mine when I get him. Screw being worried about it. If I'm gonna pay that kind of dough, he's going to do what he's made to do.
1.) look good
2.) transform
3.) be collectible
From all accounts, he can do that. I'll just be gentle and meticulous about transforming him.

What's the point in buying a Transformer if it's too fragile to transform? Doesn't that sort of kill the point in it? At the price they ask for him, he should be a God damn brick when it comes to his pieces. We shouldn't see 100's of complaints coming in that a part has broken or fallen off.

I've heard negative and positive reviews of the figure. He's not perfect, but the positives seem to far outweigh the negatives. I've spoken to a few people about him (ones that actually own him) and they all said that yes, he is fragile, but he's not impossible to transform or keep in pristine condition.
A lot of it is tempers flaring, ham fisted transformations, and overall impatience, plus people not using the instructions. (We've all seen the people who proclaim "I can do it without instructions!")
From all accounts I've heard, if you use commons sense, take your time, don't get angry (and it's possible for him to make you mad because it's a bunch of panels, flipping, twisting, etc) and just enjoy the process.
They're right, he's not a toy to battle with, but he's perfect for patient collectors who like to transform here and there.
