I realised today, as I pre-ordered a blue Alternity Megatron, that Seibertron.com has led to an increase in my collecting. I used to be content with the stuff I found at Walmart, TRU, or Target. Then there was BotCon, Seibertron.com, and a ton of cool stuff I just had to have. March is gonna be an expensive month for me: MP Grimlock, Henkei Dirge & Thrust, and Alternity Megatron.

My wallet says you guys are a bad influence.

Yeah.

Have you considered collecting Revoltech stuff? That's hideously habit-forming as well.

I suffer this same malady, dear...You're not alone! Before Seibertron, I was happy with what I found at the store...but, since I have met up with other collectors who have all sorts of purdy things that I CAN'T find at the store, I have been spending WAAAAY too much money on the derned plastic-crack!

BTW, I will be relieving you of your blue Alternity Megatron....Oh yesss! It shall be MINE!

I have Prime, Megatron, Starscream, AND Rodimus.
And each year at BotCon, I pick up an Evangelion Revoltech as a souvenir for a buddy of mine.

Yup, Thank You Seibertron and Botcon for fueling my addiction.

The internet is pretty evil for this stuff. Without it, you only really knew about stuff that you saw on adverts, and you were happy with what you could find. Now you know you COULD get that Holy Grail figure if you just save a little more... and resist all the other cool stuff.

Hi! I'm Narc and I'm a member of TF Addicts Anonymus. I've spent at least several thousand dollars over the past few years on TF toys and comicbooks... with no signs of stopping.

I feel your pain man, my family thinks I am an addict and that im just in denial. I tell them that I have a hobby, it just happens to be a hobby that is relevant in every facet of my existence. Damn....I have a problem. I preordered that clear mirage tho and that big mp grimlock is mine.....

Yeah I agree with all that...

But what REALLY gets me is when I remember the first time I saw Voyager Movie Prime (after I had gotten my first few movie figures) and I said "Well he's pretty cool looking but there's no way I'm going to spend TWENTY dollars on a toy for myself!"


This week I ordered MP-04 for nearly $300... The threshold just keeps going up and up and up....

(Oh and Voyager Movie Prime is displayed proudly in front of the other movie figs to always remind me what a huge sucker I am )

Curses Seibertron.com. I smell corruption or maybe it's just the out of the box smell of Animated Blurr. XD

My Transformer collection has grown since joining Seibertron. I also used to abide by the mantra of buying TFs in a store only, but the ease of online shopping has changed all that. Now I find myself reading all the news of upcoming toys and making lists of what I'll get in the future! I would've missed out on some great toys if not for the TF online community.

This is kind of awesome, so I'll share it.

I get offers on stuff. Through just a few friendly connections and by trying to help people in the community out, occasionally I'll get a really cool message or notice that something is being sold.

I can't always afford to swing the price, but I always appreicate the offers and information.

I just enjoy having somewhere to talk about this stuff.

But seriously--you can't really do this hobby right unless you ARE an addict, can you?

I still won't let myself shop online; that's the line I won't cross. But Seibertron keeps me interested in TFs when I'd instead be off buying, I don't know, Lego or whatever.

You guys have convinced me to get more than one figure I wouldn't have purchased on my own. I just put in an order for some Binaltech guys. At this time last year if someone would have told me I would spend that kind of money on a TF, I would have told them they were nuts. Thanks Seibertron!

A TRUE addict...i watched this happen in a walmart. Dude and his lady walking in the toy section. He shreaks "OMG the universe Ironhide" His lady said "baby we only came here for diapers" He then responds... "i guess we have to go home and get more money because im walking out with this right now" That was a selfish TF collector. It must have been a step child lol

That woman should reconsider who she's with. I don't have kids at this time, but once that time comes I already decided that my collecting will never come before my kids. I'd probably give in to the occasional deluxe or voyager though, but only if the finances could support it.

Before Seibertron, I collected mostly from stores and any Japanese or G1 figures were birthday or Christmas presents from my parents. Now that I'm a member and have control of my debit card, I've ordered stuff I never would have purchased before. Thank you Seibertron for convincing me to buy City Commander. I also have Shadow Commander coming today.

It's also scary how much us collectors are willing to shell out for figures. Right now, I'm pricing out Armada Overload.

Amen that was wrong in two different ways. If i would have done that with my wife...ironhide would now be an anal dwelling butt Bot!

That is absolutely terrible. I don't think I've ever heard anything quite so shocking about a supposed TF fan.






Everyone knows true fans don't have children so they have more money for TFs.

The Galleries have a lot to answer for.

There have been at least three dozen figures that I would have otherwise have left on the shelf or never known about but for Ryan's galleries.
