The artist probably studied Wheeljack's model, the esthetics of the last two molds, and the Lancia car and combined it all. Pretty impressive demo!

The Lancia Stratos is my dream car. I can't really explain why, but I've always loved it. I've stayed away from the MP line because of the cost but this is a must have.

i'm very surprised that this only has two pages worth of comments.

anyways, if that rendering looks somewhat like the real thing (VERY great work you guys for doing that) .. i'd only have one problem with it.. it'd be the feet, while they're more accurate to the car, and they're more accurate to the cartoon.. i'd rather them be less detailed and look more like the cartoon. in the cartoon the feet lose quite a bit of detail during transformation, so rather than looking simply like the front end of a car, they look more like feet.

but, i understand why it would be this way, i think it'd be very difficult, if not impossible to pull this off in toy form. they'd have to change his classic toon accurate transformation.

otherwise, i think this rendering looks perfect, and other than maybe a slight difference in the scheme and some minor added detailing, i think this is pretty spot on. it's definitely very clever, and has gotten me more excited, i can't wait to compare it to the actual thing when we see photos of it.

The artist also did cool MP-style fanart of Sunstreaker, Runabout & Runamuck.
(Though Wheeljack should have a grey waist, black hips and a uni coloured canon.)

I wonder if his "ears" will be made of the same blue translucent material as Red Alert's sensory flash, or if they will be grey and opaque.

As far as I am aware of, it's not available for preorder over there yet. BBTS and TfSource have him for preorder, though.

Is the missile going to be his only accessory? I would like to see him with some energon "rods" as seen in S1E1 or a gadget of some kind.

He isn't yet, but keep checking this page and I'm sure he will pop up at some point.

Takara Tomy's current Transformers Masterpiece designer Shogo Hasui has just tweeted a new silhouette of their upcoming Masterpiece MP-20 Wheeljack! Wheeljack is scheduled for release sometime in the first quarter of 2014, but so far the only teasers we've seen are a couple of silhouettes. According to Dengeki Hobby Shogo Hasui will be replaced as the lead Masterpiece designer in 2014 by the line's former designer Hironori Kobayashi, who brought us MP-01 through MP-09. Check out the latest teaser below.

Don't like the change of mp designers and I'm not a fan of those earlier non Shogo mp designs but the good news is that I think that he already finished designing this Wheeljack and mp Bumblebee. This Wheeljack looks good. I wanna see how his ankles turn out.

Anyone here read Japanese? I'm not sure how accurate Google Translate really is; did Hasui actually say that Wheeljack was his latest MP... or his last MP?

I hope the news about a replacement designer turn out to be a misunderstanding, I don't want a different designer, I want Hasui to stay. Especially for Bumblebee and the inevitable new Megatron.

Also, as far as I'm aware of, the MP-10 was Hasui's baby, not Kobayashi's.
