Also after buying Cyb Metroplex for leader price (in this country £40) and getting my bigest bout of buyers remorse ever (I REALLY didnt like cyb Metroplex) I am very wary of making the same mistake again with movie Megs.
For £40 I expect a toy that looks and is better than he is. I'll probably get him if I see him on discount (which is unlikly cuase the last Cyb Megs I saw was STILL full price and the UK TrUs are still selling Cyb Prime full price).
Surely he can't be as bad as some of the toys I have seen. It's like you saying you would rather get a Legend for free than the Leader Megatron!Autobot Vanquish wrote:I absolutely, positively think that MLM is the WORST transformers figure of all time.

Autobot Vanquish wrote:I absolutely, positively think that MLM is the WORST transformers figure of all time. I can't stand him at all. Mine won't stay together in alt mode, (his arms won't stay snapped in underneath) The paint is lousy, his bulkyness makes him look nothing like Megs from the movie. He's boring to transform. And I totally agree it looks like they slapped an alt mode on him after they already had robot mode designed. I never play with him. I play around with all my TF's about once or twice a week on average. I think I've messed with Megs maybe twice in the past 2 months.

He looks bad ass. They just effed up on the paint soooo bad. And this is true, because look at all the customs on the forums and see what a diffeence it makes! As for his gimmicks, they somewhat suck, the fusion cannon is hard and wont stay in position, the chain is pretty lack luster. There really isnt much bad with his transformations though.Raymond101 wrote:The more I browse the Leader Megs gallery on this site, the more I think that I am judging it unfairly to an extent - even with all the bad reviews it got.
I have the feeling that it got a lot of bad reviews not because it is the worst toy ever - but because it is easily one of the most disappointing toys ever. Insofar that the gimmicks, if executed properly, would have been great, but they weren't. Colour scheme is awkward, strange jet mode, and you know the rest. I figure that if I don't see for myself, I am just taking everyone's word for it, and as wise as that might be, I'll never know if I don't go.
Furthermore, I have to say that his chain whip does indeed look cool. I care little for the fusion cannon, but everyone seems to have done heaps of cool tricks with it that weren't listed in Hasbro's terrible instructions. Cybertron Galvatron in robot mode also seemed to have 2 weapon modes - did anyone feel a bit lacking with that? Just asking. And he does have bulk, size, and intimidation going for him. I am also starting to think he is a nice change from the constantly anthropomorphized Megatrons/Galvatrons we have seen since G1.
Of course, many will vehemently disagree with me (too monstrous, too ugly, and all that). But I am just weighing up the pros and cons of buying him. So is he disliked because he is disappointing, or is he hated full stop?
Ha ha! Me too! I always looked for the movie acurate batman from each movie. I stayed away from most of the colorful ones, but I got a few because they came with movie accurate weapons and such.Autobot Vanquish wrote:Well yeah, I may be overboard on calling him the worst EVER, but out of my collection and all my friends collections, he's the worst I've seen and owned. As for his bulkiness, it's cool if you enjoy it. I just have a thing for movie accuracy. I like when action figures are made like the movie. Batman figures for example. Growing up, I never owned more than maybe 2 because I couldn't stand all the colorful non-linear junk they gave all the figures. I just bought the basic black batman, and I was happy. I guess I'm just a perfectionist.

I don't really mind movie Meg. I admit he had to grow on me initially. He's really sleek and different, and I enjoyed seeing him, but the toy man, c'mon, the toy? LOL!

Not even Leader Prime or Brawl? I'm genuinely surprised.Granted there have been better Leaders in the past but you don't like them at all?

I just think they're way too inacurate. Dlx. Brawl's appearance seems to be more true to the movie design than the Leader, imho. And the clear plastic bits for the electronic gimmicks kill it for me. And look at Voyager Prime and compare him to the movie model and then do the same with the Leader. While the Leaders alt. mode is closer to the movies truck model, the paint scheme is off, and the robot mode is almost to bulky. Leader Prime isn't a bad toy, though, but not as good as the Voyager, imo.
But then again, since the Classic line, I've been kinda turned off from the Leader class in general.

Awesome... I like reading what you typed.I suppose I will get him, although at least I will buy it knowing that if I hate it I deserve it, being already so informed about him.

Is there a leader class in Classics line?
For the leader class Movie toys, Megatron is a total disappointment, in whatever mode you can get him into. Even in Gerwalk mode!(kidding) Prime looks good, especially in vehicle mode. The bot mode is not bad, although largely inaccurate compared to the movie design. But not too bad. I can live with that. Brawl, which i haven't seen the real toy yet, looks very promising. From Ryan's picture gallery, i can see a lot of major improvements from its Deluxe toy. This could be the best Leader toy. If only i can buy him soon.
You know, there is a plus side to megs. Yeah he is bulky, but he is sturdy as all hell. Everything on him is thick and well assembled. He isnt delicate. And yeah he is huge. So big that he is a good opponent for all the autobots, especially leader prime. How could you pass that up? And then, well, if you can find him, then you have an oportunity that many many people dont, because I havent seen him on shelves in months now, since before the movie came out.Raymond101 wrote:Auto Bot wrote:

I think he meant that Classics was a great line that had no neccessity for expensive Leaders or Supremes.
I personally have no problem with Leader Prime's robot mode because I like bulkiness.
Yeah, and on me HAVING to get Megs, yeah, Leader Prime and my Autobot team are looking very lonely without Megatron to fight. I think I'll be compelled to buy him sooner or later.
