I have the urge of getting them both since I don't have them. I don't know if classics/universe willl make a better g1 update of them any time soon. The transformer toys have been flying in department stores. They are becoming harder to find. Inflation on ebay doesn't help much either. Boy it is tough! :???:

The brow on ratchet is black but they left it white.

That's it I'm going to order both Ratchet and Ironhide. Going to get white label sticker, cut it the right size and draw their faces over it then color it with a marker then peel it and put the sticker on the seat.

The cardboard head is the same gloss-coated material found on the outside of the box. It's decent enough for display, but definitely not for repeated play or changing out.

I'm wondering how Heroes of Cybertron Ratchet's head would look sitting in the seat. I'm not sure how bad the scale would be. G1 Ratchet isn't all that big as most of the figure's mass is in the attack sled. :-?

Done... I have upgraded one of my G1's Ratchet... and guess what... I just went couple of extra miles and upgraded also Ironhide!!! no please don't ask me how I did it, I spend hours of research doing that, ufff.... :grin:

What i would really want to try, IF i have a G1 Ratchet or Ironhide, is to make that paper craft thingy head, and stick it into the their G1 bodies.

It is a nice added bonus made by Takara...the head is pretty G1 accurate.

Whoo Hoo! Mine came in yesterday from BBTS. I'm gonna keep 'em MISB until I take down my Macross-ROBOTECH display.

Hopefully, by then, I'll have the Black Diaclone version and maybe even the ugly move/Constructicon version.

I recieved both Ironhide and Ratchet by mail this past wednesday. Which was yesterday. This is what I think.
The wheels on them don't roll smoothly in van mode. The wheels screech as well. The stripes are painted on both. Ironhide's sunroof is also painted. Ratchet doesn't have the red cross symbol on the roof. Give both vans 7.5. Would of been an 8 if the wheels rolled better. Both robots are very small even smaller than Hound. They are by hounds shoulder ,and he is very small. Notice a small chip on the upper right hand corner on ratchet's chest. Notice a small chip on one of ironhide's feet ,and the side of his chest. The paint is cheap. I suggest you not transforming them much. The paint might rub off. I give their robot modes a 4/10. The robots look alot taller when they are on their armed sleds. I give their sleds an 8. Their boxes are quite nice. It brings a flap. Even though I would of prefered it without the flap. It brings a plastic insert. No bubble. Brings instructions, sticker sheet, original ugly head sticker included, three missles in the tree, lower gun with little red cap. Won't remove the stickers, nor missles from tree or the cardboard chests with anime faces. Would of preferred an anime removable head on the back of their windshields. Overall 6/10

My Ironhide came in today. and i love it! the head is better than i thought im gonna laminate it so that it wont get messed up as fast.

Some of the paint chipped in a couple of places beneath ironhide's metal feet when I put him on the sled. To be safe I won't do that anymore. Do you think that I should touch it up lightly on the spots with a small fine brush using cherry red acrylic paint? Or would it just mess up the red paint coat more?

Keep in mind Ratchet is a real G1 not an Encore. Ironhide is an Encore from BBTS.

To be honest I prefer the head above the windscreen. I can live with slightly too low arms, heck, Kupp had arms that were too low, and I really like that toy.
